The WNBA’s Most Improved Player award could be interesting this season, based on all the player movement from this past free agency period.
WNBA awards, and league awards in general, are a tricky subject. It seems like every voter has a different perception of what each award means and its parameters. The league is also intentionally vague about the definitions, leaving more room for personal interpretation among voters, which makes one award particularly difficult to predict every season: Most Improved Player.

In the first round of the 2025 NFL draft, 26 out of the 32 first-round picks were from Big Ten or SEC programs.
11 of those picks came from the Big Ten, with 15 from the SEC. Both NIL and the transfer portal contribute to this greater trend, with many of these top players wanting to play in the two biggest conferences on the brightest stages. That, and those conferences recently expanded to include even more the sport’s powers.

LAS VEGAS – Bishop McCort Catholic freshman Keegan Bassett earned a spot on the 17-under men’s freestyle world team at 45 kilograms Sunday at the U.S. Open against another wrestler in the area.
The champions will represent Team USA at the 2025 world championships July 28-Aug. 3 in Athens, Greece.
The finals featured a best-of-3 championship series.
Bassett, a 2024 15-under freestyle champion, beat Chestnut Ridge’s Kooper Deputy 17-6 by technical fall in 2:56 in the first bout. Deputy led early in the first match. Bassett added a 10-4 tech fall in the second match to sweep.

There will be a watch party Monday night inside 1st Summit Arena @ Cambria County War Memorial to coincide with Game 5 of the NAHL East Division semifinal series when the Johnstown Tomahawks play at the Rochester Jr. Americans.
Doors open at 5 p.m. Monday. The game will be broadcast on the scoreboard at 7 p.m. There will be free public skating and rentals from 5 to 9 p.m.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are not afraid to spend money — even if that means buying fancy toilets to woo Roki Sasaki.
Yes, you read that correctly.
As part of a $100-million clubhouse renovation this past offseason, the Dodgers installed Japanese-style toilets after Sasaki suggested that having such them could sway his decision on where to sign.
“During our first meeting with Roki, we were telling him about the project we had ongoing to upgrade our clubhouse and facilities,” team president and CEO Stan Kasten said, per the Orange County Register.
