Madonna, Shakira and K-pop megastars BTS will headline a Super Bowl-style half-time show at the World Cup final on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, organizers said Thursday.
Coldplay’s Chris Martin is curating the show, which is a first for a football World Cup final.
The biggest-ever World Cup, with 48 teams, kicks off on June 11 in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

On Wednesday, in Game 1 against the Colorado Eagles, the Firebirds’ momentum from the double overtime win over the Ontario Reign did not carry over. Coachella Valley looked gassed and out of sync in a 3-0 loss to the Eagles inside Acrisure Arena.
The Firebirds will be home again for Game 2 on Friday.
The game marked the first time the Firebirds were shutout in the playoffs since last season in Abbotsford.
The Cavaliers come back from a nine-point deficit late in regulation and beat the Pistons 117-113 in overtime Wednesday night to take a 3-2 lead in their Eastern Conference semifinal series.
Trailing 3-0 midway through the second period, the Avs tied it late in regulation before Brett Kulak capped the rally in overtime to put Colorado in the Western Conference final with a 4-3 win over the Wild.
