The Denver Nuggets were on the road on Monday night as they began their second-round series against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Denver had a solid start to the game as trailed by just one point at the end of the first quarter. Things would change in the second quarter as Oklahoma City took a 10-point lead into halftime.
Despite the halftime deficit, the Nuggets were able to stay in the game before securing the win thanks to another game-winning shot by Aaron Gordon, his second of the playoffs thus far.

The Mets defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-4 on Monday at Chase Field.
Here are some takeaways…
– Diamondbacks starter Ryne Nelson walked Juan Soto on four pitches during each of his first two at-bats. Pete Alonso wasn’t able to make him pay for it his first time up, grounding into an inning-ending double play, but he did strike in the fourth, demolishing a 425 foot no-doubt two-run homer.
Alonso lined a ringing single a few innings later, as he put together another multi-hit showing. The big man is now hitting an incredible .349 with nine homers, 33 RBI, and a 1.

Though the Toronto Maple Leafs beat the Florida Panthers 5-4 in Game 1 of their second-round playoff series, the disappointment could be heard in head coach Craig Berube’s voice.
Not because of the outcome of Monday’s game but because of what happened to his starting goaltender Anthony Stolarz.
Late in the second period, Stolarz took an elbow to the head from Panthers forward Sam Bennett before collapsing to the ice and grabbing his head. He was moved to the bench moments later, where he started vomiting and was ultimately helped to the locker room for further testing.

With the tying run on second and the home crowd on its feet, Claremore’s comeback effort was one swing away from completion.
However, a deep flyout to center field ended the drama as the Zebras fell 7-6 to Charles Page (Sand Springs) in a thrilling nondistrict showdown Saturday at Legendary Legion Field at Murray-Pixley Park.
The Sandites (20-16) built a 6-0 lead behind a three-run homer from Jackson Turney in the top of the fourth and an early scoring surge that included RBI contributions from Kaden Pope and a bases-loaded walk drawn by Jayden Bussel.
Behind dominant pitching, explosive offense and mistake-free defense, Inola baseball left no doubt.
Over three days and three statement wins, the Longhorns stormed through the Class 4A Regional 14 tournament, capped by a 6-0 shutout of Stigler in Sunday’s championship at home.
Inola (22-8) now advances to the area tournament, where two more wins would send the Longhorns to the state tournament for the first time in school history.
