The champs have some big decisions to make.
A Chris Jones extension tops the list of offseason questions for the Super Bowl champion Chiefs. The 6’6″, 311-pound defensive tackle is as much of a force as he’s ever been and, with his 29th birthday still five months away, and his health not in question (he’s missed only six games in seven years as a pro), it’s fair to reason that he has plenty left in the tank. But how much will it be worth going forward? It’s a question the Chiefs are going to have to deal with the next few months.

The Lakers got busy this trade deadline season, but just how good did these deals make them actually?
Arguably no team was more active transactionally over the last few weeks than the Los Angeles Lakers. In total, they made three different deals that added six new players to their roster.
With so much turnover taking place, one can’t help but wonder if the most storied franchise in the history of the sport now has a chance to rewrite their season and give the game’s newly-anointed all-time leading scorer another chance at a deep playoff push.

The Kansas City Chiefs overcame a double-digit lead to defeat the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 for the franchise’s third Super Bowl win. Patrick Mahomes is the third player to win multiple MVP and Super Bowl MVP awards. He threw for 182 yards and three touchdowns, along with 44 rushing yards and no turnovers. On his way to winning Super Bowl MVP, Patrick Mahomes did something nobody’s ever done.
Super Bowl LVII is now in the rearview mirror, as the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Philadelphia Eagles, 38-35. The game did have what some would say was a ticky-tack holding call that sealed the win for the Chiefs, but it was still one heck of a game. Kansas City won outright as a one-point underdog, and the game went over the total of 51.
If we eliminate the two pushes and one pick ’em game in the first 56 Super Bowls, favorites are now 28-26 (52%) against the spread.

Just like every other NFL prospect in the history of the league, Patrick Mahomes had his believers and his doubters before the Kansas City Chiefs drafted him 10th overall in 2017. Jon ‘Stugotz’ Weiner, also known as Dan Le Batard’s No. 2, wasn’t just a doubter of Mahomes, he was a bonafide hater.
While plenty of people paid to talk about sports spewed spicy takes about the Texas Tech product, nobody’s take about Mahomes has aged worse than Stugotz’s.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes appeared to reinjure his right ankle during the second quarter of Super Bowl LVII on Sunday.
However, the ailment didn’t keep Mahomes off the field at any point of the game. The Chiefs were able to win, 38–35, over the Eagles to capture their second Super Bowl title in the past four years. Mahomes, who was named Super Bowl MVP, also reportedly refused any treatment on his ankle during the Big Game, per Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer.

There are a few things working against the QB.
The Raiders are probably going to wind up cutting Derek Carr. If Carr is on the Raiders’ roster Wednesday, his $32.9 million base for next year, and $7.5 million of his money for 2024 becomes guaranteed. So he’ll be off the Las Vegas roster (effectively, at least) by 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday, the deadline for transactions to be processed that day.
Sometimes, deadlines spur deals. Don’t count on that in this case.
The Raiders have had five weeks to find a trade partner.
