The NFL’s rules behind what is, and isn’t a catch is still a total mess — and now it reared its head in the Super Bowl.
With the clock winding down in the second half, and the Eagles looking to jump to a larger lead before the Chiefs received the kickoff in the third quarter, a deep pass to DeVonta Smith was ruled incomplete because he didn’t control the ball as he made contact with the ground.

Mahomes is seen limping off the field in the second quarter.
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who already suffered a high ankle sprain earlier in the playoffs, got hurt again in Super Bowl LVII.
The injury happened on a scramble play in the second quarter, when the league MVP tried to advance the ball with his legs following a low snap. While Mahomes did manage to gain 9 yards, it was not enough to move the chains on 3rd-and-15.

The Chiefs quarterback was seen writhing in pain on the sideline.
Patrick Mahomes appeared to re-aggravate his right ankle injury at the end of the second quarter of Super Bowl LVII.
The Chiefs quarterback was scrambling up the field when he was tackled from behind by Eagles linebacker T.J. Edwards. 
Mahomes originally suffered a high ankle sprain on the same ankle in the divisional round of the playoffs against the Jaguars but has repeatedly given positive updates on the injury ever since.

The supermodel wanted the football game to hurry up.
The Super Bowl LVII halftime show should be an awesome one, with the great Rihanna set to perform in Arizona. 
And while the Chiefs and Eagles are playing a pretty fun game, lots of fans are looking forward to the halftime concert. 
One of those fans is English supermodel Cara Delevingne, who is at the game and has some pretty good seats for the show. She shared a photo of a Rihanna shirt that she wore and it’s clear that she wants this football game to hurry up and get to halftime.

After a disastrous fumble in the second quarter gifted the Kansas City Chiefs a touchdown to tie the game at 14, Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles offense responded with an impressive 12-play, 75-yard touchdown to retake the lead.
And it was Hurts who led the way.

What a turn of events!
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has had a strong start to the Super Bowl, throwing for a touchdown and rushing for another, but he also had the game’s first turnover under wild circumstances.
With the Eagles leading 14-7 against the Kansas City Chiefs, Hurts took off on a third-and-6 quarterback draw. Chiefs linebacker Nick Bolton was in front of him, and Hurts just dropped the ball.
