The NLDS is underway and what would it be without a bit of controversy?
Well, lucky us, we didn’t have to wait long to get some thanks to what sure looks like a blown call for the ages between the Philadelphia Phillies and New York Mets.
Mets lefty David Peterson was on the hill with two outs in the bottom of the third, and Phillies shortstop Treat Turner on first and Bryce Harper at the plate.
The Mets pitcher decided to try and catch Turner straying a little too far from first to get out of the inning, and while the play was certainly close, Turner was ruled safe.

For the first time in school history, Vanderbilt has defeated a top-five opponent
Entering games on Saturday, Vanderbilt was 0-60 all-time when facing an opponent ranked in the top five. With Alabama coming to town ranked No. 1, and coming off a thrilling win against Georgia a week ago, that streak looked to increase by one this weekend.

Vanderbilt built a 23-14 lead by the halftime break and held on down the stretch for a stunning 40-35 upset of the Crimson Tide.

The Vanderbilt Commodores have shocked the college football world, knocking off Alabama 40-35 in one of the biggest upsets we’ve seen in recent memory.
Entering the game as a 22.5 point underdog, expectations for a Dores win were obviously low, but given that this has looked like a different Vanderbilt team in 2024, there were thoughts that they could at least make this interesting for a few quarters.
But, I don’t think Alabama fans got the message about quarterback Deigo Pavia, who has already turned heads this season with his play on the field.
The 2023 season will always be a memorable one for Florida State.
Led by QB Diego Pavia, the Commodores never trailed and beat the Tide for the first time since 1984. It’s also the first time Vanderbilt has beat a No. 1 team.
