The Big Ten Conference is one of several to add a number of new teams across the geographic spectrum. Suddenly, a conference with Rutgers in New Jersey and Penn State in central Pennsylvania added schools like the University of Washington in Seattle and the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. 
And what do you know? As a result of all that increased travel across the continent, carbon emissions for the Big Ten have gone up substantially.

It’s officially “Quarterbacks Giving Their Offensive Lineman Gifts” season — AKA Christmas — and we’ve already had some good ones.
Patrick Mahomes filled Yeti coolers with gifts, while Brock Purdy did his best Oprah impression and dished out some trucks.
Well, ahead of the Steelers game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Christmas Day (which will be on Netflix) Russell Wilson is playing Santa.
The team shared a video of the gifts, and there’s some good stuff.

Recently we all got to witness a pretty wild moment when Los Angeles Chargers kicker Cameron Dicker drilled the first fair-catch free-kick in nearly half a century.
Well, this week, the Chargers did something cool by bringing in the last guy to accomplish that feat, who by chance, happened to have been playing for the Chargers when he did it.
According to the team’s website, Ray Wersching played for the Charges in the mid-1970s. In 1976, Wersching kicked a 47 fair-catch free-kick against the Buffalo Bills.

The NHL is switching things up this year (because they finally realized that college football pretty much owns New Year’s Day) and this year’s Winter Classic between the Chicago Blackhawks and the St. Louis Blues will take place on New Year’s Eve.
So, Wrigley Field — which will become the first venue to play host to two Winter Classic after it hosted the second-ever edition of the game back in 2009 between the Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings — looks more than ready to host some hockey.
