NEWARK, NJ – In what was arguably the most-anticipated matchup of the Elite Eight, it was the Duke Blue Devils winning the East region to advance to the Final Four with an 85-65 win over the Alabama Crimson Tide.
The lights were bright, especially for the two biggest stars in the game – Alabama’s graduate senior Mark Sears and Duke freshman sensation Cooper Flagg. And it was the young gun’s squad taking down the veteran-led team in the end.

DETROIT (AP) — Lucas Raymond and Marco Kasper scored, Cam Talbot stopped 21 shots and the Detroit Red Wings beat the Boston Bruins 2-1 on Saturday night.
Detroit, clinging to flickering playoff hopes, won for just the fourth time in 15 games. The Red Wings are tied with the New York Islanders — one point behind Montreal, Columbus and the New York Rangers, who are tied for the second wild card in the Eastern Conference.
The rebuilding Bruins, who traded captain Brad Marchand at the trade deadline, have lost eight straight for the first time since dropping 10 games in a row in 2010.

PHILADELPHIA — It was only a matter of time, but on Saturday, the Philadelphia 76ers were officially eliminated from playoff contention with a 118-95 loss to the Miami Heat at home. The Sixers are now 10 games back of the Heat for the final play-in spot with eight left.
This was a season filled with high expectations of competing for a championship after a busy summer led by the acquisition of Paul George in free agency. The idea was that George, Joel Embiid, and Tyrese Maxey would lead the Sixers over the hump and win their first title since 1983.
