The Western Michigan Broncos and Boston University Terriers will battle for the 2025 men’s ice hockey national championship on Saturday.
Both schools were victors during Thursday’s Frozen Four games in St. Louis. That’s about where the similarities end for these two programs.
Western Michigan is making its first Frozen Four appearance and, subsequently, is playing for the national title for the first time. The Broncos won in the most dramatic of fashions Thursday, knocking out defending champion Denver in double overtime.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Ivan Barbashev and William Karlsson scored for the Golden Knights and Vegas took another step toward clinching the Pacific Division with a 2-1 victory over the Seattle Kraken on Thursday night.
The Golden Knights would have secured the division, but Los Angeles remained alive with a 6-1 win over Anaheim. Vegas has a six-point lead with three games remaining; the Kings have four games left.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Kevin Fiala scored two of Los Angeles’ three power-play goals, and captain Anze Kopitar and Quinton Byfield had a goal and an assist apiece in the Kings’ 6-1 victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday night.

Just two weeks ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft, one of the more prominent wide receiver prospects has addressed some legal issues that have clouded his draft stock. Texas wideout Isaiah Bond turned himself in to Texas authorities for an outstanding sexual assault warrant.
Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported Bond surrendered to Frisco police over the incident, of which the timing and exact details have yet to be released publicly. He was processed and released on bond.
Bond is generally projected as a Day 2 prospect, though the sexual assault allegations have made those projections murky.
Katelyn Mrozowski is getting a big opportunity as a freshman midfielder for Lincoln-Way West.
Being thrown into the varsity starting lineup right away and being counted on to play a key role can be daunting, but Mrozowski was confident she could handle it.
“Everybody’s older than me and I have these expectations on me as a freshman, so it’s just about living up to those expectations,” Mrozowski said. “You just have to step up and take on the challenge. Just accept it.”
Mrozowski was definitely ready for that moment Thursday night.
