It has been a tough year for the Vancouver Canucks, who had a pretty solid run into the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs last season. But this year, the team has underperformed.
At times, that has been rumored to be largely due to a rift between star forwards JT Miller and Elias Pettersson (the Canucks oddly enough have two players named Elias Pettersson, and we’re talking about the one that’s not a rookie).
The team has tried to dance around those rumors for obvious reasons, with both players downplaying issues when asked about them.
And then there was one, which is what the New Orleans Saints are, as the lone team with a head coach vacancy but no one to fill it.
The Saints fired incumbent coach Dennis Allen on Nov. 4. That was the second-fastest coach firing of the 2024 season, anteceded only by the Jets firing Robert Saleh on Oct. 8.
But while the Saints got out in front of the Bears, Patriots, Jaguars, Cowboys, and Raiders in needing a head coach, their search and eventual hiring will come in dead last in, you know, actually hiring someone.
The CrossFit Games have instituted a new policy requiring all athletes to compete in the gender division that corresponds with their birth sex. This is a reversal on CrossFit’s previous stance that honored gender identity over biological sex.
“All athletes are welcome to participate in CrossFit Games events,” the sport’s newly released 2025 rule book reads. “However, to maintain fairness and the integrity of the competition, athletes must compete in the division corresponding to their gender assigned at birth.
