One of the most well-respected NFL draft analysts went into “beast mode” for the Carolina Panthers.
The Athletic‘s Dane Brugler has just gone through all of this year’s 257 picks for a new seven-round mock draft, which was released on Wednesday. Nine of those 257 selections belong to the Panthers, a haul that begins with (you guessed it) University of Georgia linebacker Jalon Walker.
Brugler writes:
A hybrid player, Walker is at his best as a joker edge who can be flexed around the front seven and give a blocking scheme fits.
The beautiful thing about sports is that no matter what day of the year it is, you can always find something to watch or, for the real degenerates out there, bet on. (Remember sportsbooks offering Korean baseball betting during early Covid days?)
But as the seasons change, real sports fans know some months are better than others for those diehards that need their competitive fix.

Team contributions: Nic Wilkes leads CIF Northern Division I in the 200-meter with a time of 22.25 and sits in second place in the 100-meter with a time of 10.83, both recorded at the Chico Track and Field Invitational April 12.
The New York Giants didn’t exactly impress anyone with how they fixed their quarterback room this offseason.
Russell Wilson was an uninspiring one-year addition. Jameis Winston got backup money, and we know what he is as a quarterback. Tommy DeVito returns, so there’s that too.
For a franchise that probably needs to show signs of life this season or risk a total reset, you’d like more long-term hope at quarterback.

Livvy Dunne is rating her boyfriend Paul Skenes’ skills on the field.
Skenes, a pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates, was playing against the Washington Nationals in the series opener at PNC Park on Monday, April 14 when he attempted to tag out shortstop Nasim Nuñez during the sixth inning. On his way to third base, last year’s National League Rookie of the Year partially collided with Nuñez and tumbled to the ground, coming to a halt after a backwards somersault.
Aaron Donald has gotten a restraining order against a woman who he alleges has harassed, stalked and threatened his family for years, according to TMZ Sports.
Donald filed for the restraining order on Tuesday in Los Angeles and it was granted by a judge shortly afterwards. The woman, Janelle Anwar, is now ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from Donald and his family.
Donald says Anwar has harassed him and his family since 2020, sending him multiple messages, gives and packages over the years. Additionally, he says the woman believes she’s married to Donald.

Players jumping from school to school, year after year, has become the norm in the era of the transfer portal. Plenty of student athletes across the country in just about every sport imaginable will end their college careers at a different school than the one they started at.
This is certainly the case for college basketball player AJ Storr, who should be considered the certified king of not only the transfer portal, but moving in general.
Storr has committed to play at Ole Miss for the 2025-26 season after entering the transfer portal after one season at Kansas.
