The Atlanta Falcons are expected to release quarterback Kirk Cousins before his $10 million roster bonus in March, according to ESPN.
Adam Schefter reports that the split between Cousins and the Falcons is “inevitable,” confirming an earlier report by OutKick’s Armando Salguero that the Falcons quarterback was likely to be released or possibly traded after the team announced earlier this week that rookie quarterback Michael Penix Jr. would start the remainder of the year.
