Texas and South Carolina may have some pass-rushing gems on their hands.
When it comes to the collegiate level, there may not be a tougher position to develop than an offensive lineman or defensive lineman. Both require a strong frame and seasoning with technique before hitting the field.
That’s why it was extremely impressive to see five-star true freshmen Colin Simmons and Dylan Stewart shine in Week 2 for the Texas Longhorns and South Carolina Gamecocks, respectively.

And now comes that time in the Tyreek Hill traffic stop drama in which we’ve treaded onto the strange territory of the tale.
Hill told reporters on Wednesday that representatives for the officer who stopped him outside Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday have reached out to offer an apology. 
That, by the way, was a suggestion I made in my column Wednesday morning. I also wrote Hill should similarly apologize for the role he played in the incident.
“They already tried, but we declined,” Hill said of the attempt by the other side to apologize.

After the mass exodus that we witnessed last year, the Pac-12 has risen from the ashes, putting together a plan that will add four teams from the Mountain West Conference in another round of realignment that will bring the once left-for-dead league back to the table in college athletics. 
After shouting from the rooftops that the Pac-12 could still play a factor in the future, and that just because ten teams decided to leave for greener pastures, the conference is putting a whole new band together.

The PGA Tour and Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF), the sole funder of LIV Golf, have reportedly been holding meetings this week in hopes of coming to terms on an agreement that would shrink the divide in professional golf. The two sides meeting with one another isn’t necessarily a noteworthy story given that’s what happens during negotiations, but the timing and location of these meetings have raised everyone’s eyebrows.
As first reported by ESPN, the meetings are being held over the course of a few days in New York City this week, the week of the 23rd anniversary of 9/11.

Welcome back for Week 2 of the 2024 NFL season. Week 1 was a wild one with some significant upsets mixed with some more expected impressive performances.
The stunner of the week saw the Patriots go into Cincinnati and beat the Bengals as a sizable underdog. New England has low expectations this season, but the win over the Bengals suddenly makes them a live dog in the short term.

Fans of the Carolina Panthers need to dial it back on social media.
The Panthers are currently 0-1 after starting the season with a 47-10 loss to the New Orleans Saints. The team looked absolutely awful.
Anyone who says different is simply lying to you. The Panthers and QB Bryce Young appear destined to have a horrible season.
While fans being outraged isn’t unusual, what we saw Wednesday was simply unreal.
Wednesday was the 23-year anniversary of 9/11, and the Panthers posted a tribute on Instagram reminding people to never forget the horrific terrorist attack.
