In all likelihood, you’ve probably never heard the name Nick Bienz, but the Golf Galaxy employee cemented himself as a legend in the game of golf after qualifying for the PGA Tour’s Rocket Mortgage Classic on Monday.
Bienz, who played collegiately at IUPUI, will play in his first Tour-sanctioned event this week in Detroit after posting a 65 at The Orchards Club in Washington, Michigan. The 65 was only good enough to get him into a five-for-four playoff, and it’s what took place between the start of the playoff and him ultimately securing a spot that is worth noting.
