As the Boston Celtics prepared for their championship parade on Friday, Brown rolled up holding his NBA Finals MVP trophy and wearing a shirt that read “State Your Source” in bold, white letters. The T-shirt was a not-so-subtle jab at ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, who reported last month that Brown had a bad attitude that harmed his marketability.
“I wanted to read y’all what an NBA source just sent me,” Smith said on the May 26 episode of First Take.
