CoachTodd Bowles also issued a statement on the big news.
Tom Brady’s retirement announcement started an outpouring of praise and congratulations from the NFL world on Wednesday and the Buccaneers organization joined in to give the former quarterback his flowers.
Coach Todd Bowles will surely miss having Brady under center next year, but he enjoyed the one year he had where he got to coach one of the greatest to ever play the game.
“I have always had the utmost respect for Tom Brady as a football player, as a winner and as a person,” Bowles said in a statement.

No injury is funny, but this would be hilarious.
Nobody ever wishes for a player to be injured, but if something happens to Derek Carr it would set in motion a chain of events resulting in one of the funniest things to happens in NFL history.
Carr was named to the Pro Bowl on Tuesday, along with Tyler Huntley in one of the funniest/saddest examples of how far the game has sunk. At least Carr had a sense of humor about it.
Well… maybe this invitation got lost in the mail from past seasons but I’m going back to pro bowl #4.
The Chiefs receiver has one more game to play before his contract is up. His fantasy value would be good next year with one of these teams.
Wide receiver has become the dominant position in all of fantasy football, as young players like Justin Jefferson, Ja’Marr Chase and CeeDee Lamb (to name a few) are lighting up the stat sheets. Unfortunately for NFL teams looking to make a major splash at the position, they will find it difficult to accomplish that between now and next season. The free-agent market is a bit weak heading into the 2023 offseason.
We will track the daily point spread movement for the Chiefs-Eagles showdown in Super Bowl LVII.
LeBron James notched his first triple-double of the season last night in a 129-123 OT win over the New York Knicks. Anthony Davis chipped in with 27 points, nine rebounds and two steals in the victory. Shannon Sharpe praises the Lakers for a ‘total team game’ in their win at Madison Square Garden.
National Signing Day is officially underway. Catch up on all the news as some of the biggest names in the 2023 class sign their national letter of intent.
Super Bowl LVII tickets are on sale and prices are already rising across the board.
The February 12th Championship showdown will feature the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles from State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, home of the Arizona Cardinals.
Secondary ticket sites show some of the cheapest tickets right now are in the $4,800-$5,200 range and are only expected to rise.
The average price as of Wednesday morning for a single ticket is $8,500-$8,800, according to SeatGeek.com and TicketSmarter.com.
Oh, and that’s BEFORE the added ticket fees.
Matt Rhule quickly found a new job after being fired by the Carolina Panthers, but that doesn’t mean he’s not looking for reparations from the franchise.
Rhule, who was hired as Nebraska’s head football coach about six weeks after being fired in Carolina, has reportedly filed an arbitration lawsuit against the Panthers seeking “about $5 million” in offset severance compensation.

It was a horrible, terrible, no good, very bad year.
There will be no shortage of touching eulogies to Tom Brady’s career. Flowery prose juxtaposing grace with grit, style and substance — worthy of the greatest career we’ve seen from an NFL quarterback. This isn’t one of those.
Tom Brady is done. Finally done. Really, actually, permanently done. His final season in Tampa Bay was that of a wounded zombie, making one last desperate lurch forward before being double-tapped and left behind.
Tom Brady’s NFL playing career was unmatched in terms of accomplishments and triumphs, but is he the best fantasy quarterback ever? That’s not quite so clear.
