The bettor made the wager when Los Angeles was up 27–0 in the second quarter.
It seemed obvious during the second quarter of Saturday night’s Chargers–Jaguars game that Los Angeles was on its way to a landslide victory. After all, the Chargers led 27-0 and seemed to have all the momentum in the world.
One bettor was especially confident in the Chargers to hang on and win the wild-card game, reportedly betting $1.4 million on an in-game money line through DraftKings Sportsbook. Because the Chargers led by 27 at the time, the payout only would’ve been $11,200—a mere 0.

The Vikings have heard they’re not as good as their record. They get a chance to prove otherwise at home against the upset-minded Giants.
Carolina is the fourth team to receive permission.
The Panthers have been granted permission to interview former Saints head coach Sean Payton, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports. They are the fourth team to get the chance to speak with Payton, joining the Broncos, Cardinals and Texans, but no team can officially interview him until Tuesday.
Carolina is very familiar with the veteran coach, as Payton spent 15 years coaching against the Panthers while with New Orleans. The former Super Bowl winner stepped away from coaching last year but appears ready to rejoin the NFL.

Bills cornerback Kaiir Elam made sure to make time for one of his biggest fans ahead of the Bills–Dolphins wild-card game on Sunday: 9-year-old Sophia Benintende.
Benintende is battling a form of cancer called sarcoma, and her favorite player is the rookie Elam. She’s met the cornerback before, but Sunday’s game was extra special.
In a video posted by the Bills, Elam hugged Benintende and then presented her with custom shoes decorated in Bills colors. Elam signed the shoes before giving them back to Benintende.
The Buffalo Bills were dominating the Miami Dolphins in the first half of their Wild Card game but that didn’t stop Bills quarterback Josh Allen from getting frustrated following an interception.
Late in the second quarter, Allen heaved one downfield to John Brown but Dolphins cornerback Xavien Howard made an excellent over-the-shoulder interception near his own endzone.
Not only did Howard snag the pass, but he quickly turned it into a big return. During the return, Dolphins defensive lineman Christian Wilkins gave Josh Allen a light shove and then boxed him out.
Ohio State Buckeyes’ Zed Key slammed down the first dunk of the game.
Make no mistake, Trevor Lawrence is a Southerner through and through. Born in Knoxville, Tennessee, and raised in Georgia, the 23-year-old quarterback played his college ball in South Carolina and plays professionally in Jacksonville.
And as any good Southerner knows, there is no better restaurant at which to celebrate a monumental win at an hour well after midnight than Waffle House. So that is exactly what he did.
Trevor Lawrence went to Waffle House.
