It’s always been said that while the top of your roster will help you win games, it’s the depth of your team that helps you win Super Bowls. Last year, the Baltimore Ravens signed LBs Kyle Van Noy and Jadeveon Clowney after the June 1 deadline, and it helped them get the first seed in the AFC while having the top defense in the NFL.
These signings late in the offseason could largely be nothing, but for the most part they’re what separates the good teams from the great.

German golfer Isi Gabsa hit a birdie on the 12th hole at the U.S. Women’s Open on Thursday — a literal birdie.
Gabsa’s score sat at 2-over par when she teed up for the ill-fated shot at the Lancester Country Club. The ball headed for the green, but when it landed, it struck an unfortunate bird, who happened to be relaxing on the course.
“On the list of bizarre things that we have seen on the 12th hole, this one is kinda sad, takes the cake,” Brandel Chamblee said during Peacock/Golf Channel’s Golf Central Live broadcast.

The refs missed an obvious foul committed against Caitlin Clark Thursday night.
Clark and the Indiana Fever fell to the Seattle Storm 103-88 to fall to 1-8 on the season. Despite the loss, the former Iowa star finished with 20 points, nine assists and three rebounds.
She also showed some serious fire to earn herself a technical foul. The team might not be winning, but Clark continues to shine.
Unfortunately for Clark and the Fever, the refs didn’t seem overly interested in helping out the most famous player in the WNBA when an obvious foul happened.
