Wait a minute. Are we seeing this correctly? Like, what’s up with American sports lately?
It’s – checking again before I say this – cool right now.
It’s a feel-good thing now.
It’s unifying.
These folks who we used to root for with a passion until they began kneeling in front of the flag, or started demanding you support vax mandates, or started preaching to you about this, that or the other thing when all we wanted was just to watch a freaking sporting event are, well, not acting like those people right now.
They’re acting like our heroes again.

NBA Last Vegas Summer League is many things: a fan convention for diehards, an extended try-out for long-shots, and a wondrous basketball oasis in the dog days of the offseason. More than anything, though, NBA summer league serves as the debut for the league’s new rookies, and gives them the opportunity to make a first impression.
Summer league performances need to be taken with a grain of salt regardless of their quality.

Tiger Woods followed his son, Charlie, in support as the U.S. Junior Amateur got underway on Monday at Oakland Hills Country Club in Michigan. While Woods has been walking with and even caddying for Charlie on occasion over recent years, the takeaway from this particular instance had everything to do with the elder Woods’ attire that revealed the ginormous scar on his right leg.
Woods has been seen out in public wearing shorts since his single-car crash in 2021, but has always worn a leg sleeve on his surgically repaired right leg.
