When there’s an almost-week-long gap between the NHL’s conference finals and the Stanley Cup Final, we’re going to need some storylines to whet everyone’s whistles before the puck drops and the Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers battle out.
This year there has been no shortage of very goofy storylines.
Sure, there are some normal storylines like the best player in the world, Edmonton Oilers star Connor McDavid, is finally getting his shot at the Cup while the Panthers look to avenge their loss to the Vegas Golden Knights in last year’s Cup Final.

Many star players missed the cut at the Memorial Tournament, a troublesome sign with the U.S. Open around the corner.
Despite employing a 73-player field this year, the Memorial Tournament still had a 36-hole cut. Only the top 50 players and ties—or anyone within 10 shots of the lead—made the cut.
Fifty-two players finished at 4-over or better, meaning anyone who finished at 5-over or worse failed to make the weekend.

Friday’s second practice session at the Canadian Grand Prix led to some concerns over at Red Bull
The Formula 1 grid arrived in Montreal for this weekend’s Canadian Grand Prix, with dreams of a true title fight dancing in the minds of fans.
Friday’s two practice sessions perhaps added to those dreams.
Free practice one was largely a washout, as heavy downpours and even some hail worked through the area in the moments before FP1 began.

The sports agency co-founded by pop star Bad Bunny has committed “a series of grave violations” in dealings with baseball players, according to the Major League Baseball Players Association. 
The world-famous Puerto Rican rapper and singer launched Rimas Entertainment — a sports management agency — in April 2023. And just a year later, his main baseball agent, William Arroyo, had his MLBPA certification revoked. That’s after a union investigation into complaints that Rimas offered improper benefits to players. In other words, bribing them to sign with the agency.

On Friday, IndyCar team Juncos Holilng Racing announced that driver Agustin Canapino will take a leave of absence this weekend and will not appear in the Xpel Grand Prix at Road America. He will be replaced by Indy NXT driver Noah Siegel.
This news comes after an eventful week for JHR, which all started on Sunday with an incident involving Canapino and Arrow McLaren’s Theo Pourchaire in Detroit.
