Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman made a long-awaited return to the field on Monday.
Freeman missed eight games after his family was struck by a sudden medical emergency. The All-Star’s three-year-old son, Max, was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome.

“These have been the hardest and scariest days of our lives. Maximus is such a special boy, and he has been fighting SO hard,” Freeman said via Instagram.
Giants and Lions players fought for a second straight day at joint practices on Tuesday.
The Giants dodged a mess after one of the marquee fights from practice featured sixth-overall pick, LSU wideout Malik Nabers.
Nabers came to blows with one of the Lions’ defensive backs, Kerby Joseph, during the joint session, which was eventually cut short due to too much beef between the players.
After an incomplete pass thrown at Nabers, Joseph and fellow DB Terrion Arnold got in Nabers’ business.

The Olympic surfing competition has been one of the most interesting parts of the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics. That’s because instead of trying to catch barrels, bruh, on the English Channel or somewhere in the Mediterranean along the south of France, surfers are thousands of miles away from the City of Lights doing their thing in Tahiti, part of French Polynesia.
The event now holds the record for the Olympic event held furthest away from the host city, and it has provided some spectacular moments, but nothing will top watching a whale breach during the competition.

In a departure from most seasons in Major League Baseball, there aren’t any elite teams in the sport this season.

But there sure is a terrible team. The 2024 Chicago White Sox are to put it simply and mildly, an abomination. It started in April, when the White Sox opened with a 3-20 record. In just 23 games, they were outscored by 79 runs. It was almost incomprehensible. And for most “bad” teams, 3-20 would be as bad as it gets.
But the White Sox have gotten so, so much worse.
