After what was termed a standoff in Stillwater over the contract of Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy and the Cowboys, the head coach decided to restructure his contract, keeping him at the school.
The Board Of Regents met on Friday morning to discuss the contract of Gundy, hoping he would take a pay cut. Coming off a 3-9 season, Gundy had already fired his offensive and defensive coordinator following the regular season finale.
Reports stated that Gundy could be fired if he did not agree to the new deal, which also had certain elements of control for the school.

The No. 3 Penn State Nittany Lions are set to take on the No. 1 Oregon Ducks on Saturday in the Big Ten Championship game, with kickoff set for 8:00 p.m. ET at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Haas driver Nico Hülkenberg qualified fourth for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix but will not start there
Nico Hülkenberg saved his best qualifying session of the 2024 campaign for the season finale, putting his VF-24 onto the second row alongside Carlos Sainz Jr. with a P4 performance at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
But the Haas driver will not start there.
After qualifying fourth, Hülkenberg was given a three-place grid penalty following the session for overtaking on the pit lane exit road during qualifying.
