Tuesday night’s wild card round kicks off a over a month of postseason drama
The 2024 MLS Cup Playoffs begin Tuesday night with a pair of wild card round matches, and 18 teams in Major League Soccer will battle to be the only club left standing after the MLS Cup on Dec. 7.
As we get set for playoff soccer, there are several storylines if you plan to tune in that should have your attention.

Evans was held out of practice on Thursday and Friday and was limited on Saturday with the injury.
Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans missed two days of practice with a hamstring injury in the week leading up to Tampa Bay’s matchup with the Ravens on Monday Night Football. Evans re-injured the hamstring in the second quarter, and he was ruled out of the game.
On Tuesday, reports emerged that the Buccaneers receiver may be out for a few weeks, and may not see the field again until after Tampa Bay’s Week 11 bye.

A controversy arose at the Air Force Academy over the weekend when security told a fan that he couldn’t wear a shirt that said “Keep Women’s Sports Female” during a volleyball match against San Jose State. 
San Jose State has a player named Blaire Fleming, who is transgender. Five schools have refused to play against SJSU because of the presence of Fleming. 
However, Air Force was not one of those schools. Air Force played its scheduled match against the Spartans on Saturday and lost, 3-1.

It appears we’ve got a resolution to the cheating scandal that rocked the world of conkers worse than the chestnut blight of the early 1900s, and it’s good news for the man accused of using steel nuts to crack and conk his way to a men’s division title.
If you’re unfamiliar with conkers — where have you been, by the way? — it’s a game played in the UK in which chestnuts on strings are knocked together in an attempt to shatter the other player’s nuts.
This year, 82-year-old cooking great Dave Jakins was the King Conker.
