Well, the NASCAR playoff format continues to be either the dumbest, or most entertaining, out of all the major sports. Seriously, you either love this thing or you want to send it straight to the sun.
Dale Earnhardt is (probably) rolling over in his grave today, although it may have as much to do with wife Teresa as it does with what happened yesterday at Vegas. You’ll see.
Joey Logano, who a week ago wasn’t even in this round of playoffs, is now in the championship race. Tyler Reddick, the regular season champ, is basically in a win-or-go-home scenario from here on out.
We are coming off another wild weekend of college football. Week eight is now in the rearview mirror, and the SEC double-header gave us enough to talk about, with Georgia and Tennessee taking care of business that will see them rise in the rankings.
One of the better stories in college football, the Indiana Hoosiers, remain undefeated while Oregon is the No.1 team in the new AP Top-25 this week.
There were a number of close calls on Saturday, as Miami survived a close game against Louisville, and Missouri escaped with a win against Auburn.

The one thing New York Jets fans should have been able to count on seeing from Aaron Rodgers and the boys Sunday night in Pittsburgh was the team to come out with energy and firepower. This is a franchise two weeks removed from firing its head coach and just days removed from acquiring a quote-unquote difference maker in wide receiver Davante Adams.
Instead, the Jets were the same old flat and uninspired Jets.
Indiana is expected to be without Kurtis Rourke this weekend against Washington.
The Hoosiers are one of the biggest stories in college football after jumping out to a blazing hot 7-0 start. The Hoosiers somehow went from being an afterthought in the Big Ten to being one of the best teams in America in Curt Cignetti’s first year with the program.
In case there were any doubts about whether Indiana was legit, they should have been erased Saturday after the Hoosiers dominated Nebraska to the tune of 56-7.
Unfortunately, it came at a cost.

The team arrived in Texas for the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix facing questions about their car, and whether Ferrari could turn the McLaren-Red Bull duet at the top of the Constructors’ Championship standings into a jazz trio. But Charles Leclerc was unsure whether this would be the best week for them.
