Rio Takeda prevailed in a playoff over Marina Alex, thus claiming her first career victory on the LPGA.
Rio Takeda of Japan won her first LPGA event in her native country, defeating American Marina Alex in a six-hole playoff at the Seta Golf Course outside of Kyoto.
The win caps an incredible run for Takeda, who has won seven times already on the LPGA of Japan Tour this season. But this victory means much more; she now earns status on the LPGA in 2025.

Shane Beamer had himself a Saturday. Not only did he coach his South Carolina Gamecocks to a blowout, upset victory over Texas A&M in front of a home crowd, but he also pulled off one of the coolest postgame celebrations you’ll ever see with his players and his wife.
