Admittedly, it’s been a few weeks since I’ve had time to do my “Proper Reaction Monday” column following a wild NFL Sunday.
But now that we’re one month into the season, it felt like the right time to get back on the horse and remind everyone that there’s a lot of football left to play.
The hot takes continue to fly, so let’s take a level-headed approach to what we saw in Week 5.

The 2024 Formula 1 season is about to enter its final act.
Next week’s United States Grand Prix kicks off the final six race weekends of the 2024 season, and the competition is tight throughout the standings. On the Drivers’ Championship side, Max Verstappen holds a 52-point lead over Lando Norris, with Charles Leclerc 86 points behind Verstappen.
Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty has taken the college football world by storm after rushing for 1,031 yards and 16 touchdowns in the first five games of the season. The resulting Heisman Trophy hype is as monstrous as his gaudy numbers.
And they are gaudy.
