With 11 games in the books on the NFL regular season it’s fair to start looking ahead to the playoffs and beyond. It goes without saying that anything could happen in the postseason, but looking at the trend of the league we feel fairly comfortable separating the contenders from pretenders.
At this point nobody in the NFL is eliminated from the playoffs, at least not technically. Obviously the Jaguars or Cowboys aren’t winning the Super Bowl, but until their season is over they still need to be ranked.
PGA Tour player Sam Burns appears to be a very happy man that Donald Trump is heading back to the Oval Office for another four years.
Burns, a five-time winner on the PGA Tour, shared a photo on Instagram of him posing with a good-sized buck while wearing a camo ‘Make America Great Again’ hat. It’s unclear when Burns shot the buck, but deer hunting season is currently open in Louisiana if he took down the deer in his home state in recent days.
We are officially coming down the home stretch of the 2024 college football regular season, and business has certainly picked up. Whether that’s fans losing their minds over penalties, playoff standings, coaches under-performing or a path to the national championship, there are gripes and concerns everywhere.

On Monday, the ballot for the 2025 Baseball Hall of Fame voting was released. (We already covered the Classic Era ballot–formerly referred to as the Veterans Committee ballot–here.) There’s one obvious choice and a few others who have a shot at getting voted in this year, plus a handful of interesting first-year candidates. I’ve broken the ballot into tiers.

The Dallas Cowboys might have a bone to pick with that adage.
The 2024 season has been less than kind to the Cowboys, who fell to 3-7 in a 34-10 loss to the Houston Texans on Monday Night Football. With the loss, the Cowboys slipped to five games behind the division-leading Philadelphia Eagles in the loss column, and face a monumental task just to get back into relevancy, let alone the playoff hunt.
After watching his team fall to 3-7 with a 34-10 loss to the Texans on Monday, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told reporters that the franchise “didn’t anticipate the record,” but scoffed at the notion that coach Mike McCarthy has lost the team.
