One game into its season and the NFL has already reminded us why it is America’s Game.
The league’s kickoff game between the Baltimore Ravens and defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs Thursday night had it all. And we do mean everything:
Drama.
Controversy.
Heroes and goats.
And then the game started and things got really interesting.

In Thursday night’s NFL season opener, officials sent a clear message that they are going to crack down on illegal formation penalties involving offensive tackles lining up deeper in the backfield. But unfortunately for Baltimore Ravens’ OT Ronnie Stanley, it seemed as if they only sent that message to him.
Stanley was called for three illegal formation penalties — two on the first drive — and right tackle Patrick Mekari was called for it once. The Kansas City Chiefs, however, were not flagged for the infraction at any point in their 27-20 win.

In the second race of the 2024 Formula 1 season, Oliver Bearman stepped in to replace Carlos Sainz Jr. and delivered a seventh-place finish in his first race for Ferrari. That result still has Bearman ranked 15th in the F1 Drivers’ Championship standings, despite it being Bearman’s only F1 race of the season.
Now, Haas is hoping he can deliver something similar at next weekend’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

A shootout is expected São Paulo, and that means a lot of fantasy points if you have players like Jalen Hurts, Jordan Love, Josh Jacobs, Saquon Barkley, or plenty more.
The matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers will be a signaling of new ground which the NFL is breaking, in the Week 1 slate of the 2024 season. This will be the first ever NFL game taking place in South America, with Sao Paulo, Brazil playing host on Friday, September 6.

People on social media aren’t impressed with Angel Reese going after fans of Caitlin Clark.
Reese and Clark have a long-standing rivalry going back to their time in college. That rivalry carried over into the WNBA, and it has fueled a lot of interest in the league.
The rivalry is one of the best things that’s ever happened to the WNBA. However, it definitely seems one-sided at this point.
I’m not sure the Indiana Fever rookie spends much time thinking about anyone other than herself. The same can’t be said for Reese. She loves the cameras and taking shots.
