It’s not often that I actually take a step back, stop typing – and (secretly) drinking – and just … listen while in the media center at Daytona International Speedway.
I’m usually the dummy in the back making a joke, or laughing, or audibly sighing at another dumb question. In between sips, of course.
But last night, when Dale Earnhardt Jr. took a seat at the front of the media center – a place he’s sat a million times before – and started to talk about what just happened, I found myself … just listening. And watching. Taking it all in.

Trans rights are human rights. Period.
On Feb. 5, 2025, on National Girls and Women in Sports Day, President Donald Trump signed an executive order banning trans girls and women from competing on sports teams that reflect their gender identity. The measure, “No Men in Women’s Sports”, specifically targets athletes who were assigned male at birth and bars them from participating in collegiate sports. Trans men are, at the time of publication, still allowed to compete in men’s sports.

F1 car launches began with Williams debuting the FW47 at Silverstone
The Formula 1 season may be weeks away, but the 2025 campaign kicked off unofficially on Friday when Williams unveiled the FW47, their challenger for this year, at Silverstone.
Drivers Alexander Albon and Carlos Sainz Jr., as well as Team Principal James Vowles, were on hand for the event. The team shared the FW47 in a special one-off livery they will use at this season’s British Grand Prix.
It’s not fair to say Joe Burrow is frustrated with the Cincinnati Bengals because, for a while there, they made him the highest-paid player in the NFL and gave him a buffet of weapons so he could produce big numbers and try to get back to the Super Bowl for a second time.
But the tone Burrow had last week during the lead-up to the Super Bowl LIX wasn’t exactly happy or joyful. It was at times bordering on annoyance or irritation.
