Sixers star Joel Embiid disagreed with James Harden’s assessment that he was “on a leash” in Philadelphia, saying that the Sixers gave Harden the ball “every single possession” and let him “do his thing.
Titans wide receiver Treylon Burks was carted off in the final minutes against Pittsburgh on Thursday night with an injury.
76ers center Joel Embiid addressed comments made by former teammate James Harden on Thursday, in which he said that Philadelphia had him “on a leash” and used him as a “system player.”
“I think he did a lot of great things for us,” Embiid said, speaking to reporters after the Sixers’ win over the Raptors, via Kyle Neubeck of PHLY Sixers.
“But in my opinion, I just felt like we allowed him to just be himself. And we gave him the ball every single possession, because he’s really good. He’s an amazing player,” Embiid continued.
Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama was putting on a show on Thursday night before San Antonio’s game against the Suns even tipped off. And he continued putting on a show until the final buzzer.
The 19-year-old pulled out some tricks during San Antonio’s pregame warmups ahead of their second consecutive matchup with Phoenix, and he stunned the crowd by throwing down an incredible between-the-legs dunk.
Despite his 7’4” frame, Wembanyama made the dunk look easy as he tucked the ball under his legs before flushing it down with authority at the rim.
The difficulty level increased for Will Levis’s second career NFL start.
The Titans’ rookie quarterback had to deal with edge rushers T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith in Pittsburgh four days after his sensational debut against the Falcons.
Levis had two weeks to prepare for a home game against the Falcons, who didn’t know what to expect from the 2023 second-round pick. Also, Atlanta doesn’t boast the type of pass rushers that the Steelers possess.
Levis saw frequent pressure in the 20–16 loss against the Steelers, but he made many impressive plays during Thursday Night Football.

Treylon Burks is “alert and moving” after taking a scary fall toward the end of Thursday’s game.
Treylon Burks is “alert and moving” after taking a scary fall toward the end of Thursday’s game.
Titans wide receiver Treylon Burks went down with a scary injury and was carted off the field late into fourth quarter of Thursday night’s matchup against the Steelers.
Burks jumped up to try to make a catch on a deep pass attempt from quarterback Will Levis on fourth down, but landed hard on his shoulder, and his head slammed into the ground right after.
Burks remained on the ground as the medical staff came to his aid, while players gathered around to show their support. He was placed onto a backboard and then transported onto the cart.
