He finished his round right where he started: at 5-under for the tournament. He carded an even-par 70 for his second round.
“Pretty mediocre,” McIlroy said of his play on Friday.

Homa dominated Olympia Fields to lead the BMW Championship headed into the weekend. He set the course record on Friday with double digit birdies.
Max Homa shot a record-breaking 62 on Friday at Olympia Fields to lead the BMW Championship by two shots. He sits at 10-under after two rounds of play.
Homa broke Rickie Fowler’s 2007 (at Oklahoma State) and Vijay Singh’s second-round 63 score in the 2003 U.S. Open. His score on Friday is the lowest in any PGA Tour or major championship round at Olympia Fields, per The Athletic’s Justin Ray.

The estate of the late Dwayne Haskins has agreed to a settlement with the owner, broker and driver of the dump truck that hit and killed the former Steelers quarterback, said Rick Ellsley, the lawyer of Haskins’s widow, in a statement Friday.
On April 9, 2022, Haskins was struck by the dump truck while attempting to cross the westbound lanes of Interstate 595 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Haskins was pronounced dead at the scene. He was 24.

Things have gotten a little testy at Dallas Cowboys training camp, and QB Dak Prescott says that should send a message to the rest of the league.
Earlier in training camp, Prescott himself was on the receiving end of some insults from Dallas CB Trevon Diggs.
However, on one of the last days of the team’s training camp in Oxnard, California a pair of skirmishes broke out between teammates.
That’s not ideal, but Precott himself said he liked to see some fire out of his team.
“For me, to see the passion,” Prescott said, according to the team’s website.

Rickie Fowler has put himself into contention at the BMW Championship heading into the weekend. He has made Olympia Fields look easy through the first two rounds as he recorded a 66-69 to sit tied in sixth when his round finished Friday.
It seems he has his good luck charm in Chicago this week.

Harry Kane made a major move over the summer, transferring from Tottenham in the Premier League to Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga. And in his first game in his new league, Kane made a splash.
On Friday, Kane scored his first Bayern Munich goal in his first Bundesliga game with the team vs. Werder Bremen. It was Kane’s second overall game with Bayern Munich, having already played in the club’s 3–0 German Super Cup loss to RB Leipzig last week.
The goal came at the 74th minute off an assist from veteran Bayern forward Alphonso Davies to extend Bayern Munich’s lead to 2–0.
