Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins was ready to put his team on the board quickly during Sunday’s game vs. the Panthers, but his attempt failed miserably.
Cousins attempted to throw a touchdown to receiver K.J. Osborn to finish off the Vikings’ first drive of the game, but Panthers safety Sam Franklin Jr. picked off the throw at the one-yard line. What commenced after was Franklin running 99 yards to score a touchdown to put the Panthers on the board before the offense even came onto the field.

Offsides is a very common NFL penalty. Referees call it on defenses all the time. What they don’t usually call is offsides … on the offense. But refs flagged the Philadelphia Eagles for that infraction against the Washington Commanders.
The Eagles basically invented the “quarterback push” play. When they face third or fourth downs with one yard or fewer to go, Jalen Hurts sneaks the ball and everyone behind him pushed him forward.
Because the city of Philadelphia is known as the “City of Brotherly Love,” people have dubbed their QB sneak as the “Brotherly Shove.”
Clever.

The highly anticipated Dolphins–Bills Week 4 matchup is living up to expectations so far in Buffalo, with both teams lighting up the scoreboard in the first half.
The Dolphins, of course, are coming off a 70-point game against the hapless Broncos and the Bills are looking to hand Miami their first loss of the season.
Buffalo wide receiver Stefon Diggs has made some big plays early on, including an 11-yard TD catch that gave the home team a 21-14 lead early in the second quarter.

Jrue Holiday is headed back east.
The Celtics acquired the two-time All-Star guard in a deal with the Trail Blazers on Sunday, sending Malcolm Brogdon, Robert Williams, and two-first round picks to Portland. Holiday was traded to the Blazers as part of the Damian Lillard trade, and now he’s headed to one of his former team’s biggest rivals. Portland will acquire a 2024 first rounder from the Warriors as part of the deal, as well as a 2029 first from Boston.
Let’s grade the deal for both sides.
Celtics: B+
I am fascinated by this trade for Boston.

Aaron Rodgers met with his Jets teammates Saturday for the first time since his surgery on his torn Achilles and apparently had a direct message for his squad: stop pointing fingers. The news of the meeting and Rodgers’s message was first reported by The Athletic and then confirmed by Fox Sports.
This shouldn’t come as a surprise from Rodgers. During an appearance on The Pat MacAfee Show on Tuesday following the team’s ugly 15–10 loss to the Patriots, Rodgers called out his teammates after several of them were seen yelling at one another on the sidelines during the game.

Captain Kirk Cousins makes it really hard to defend him sometimes. I’m one of the biggest defenders of his on the planet. I bet him to win NFL MVP for crying out loud. But on the Minnesota Vikings first drive of the day against the Carolina Panthers, Cousins made a horrendous mistake.
Two plays earlier, the Vikings appeared to take the lead. Cousins hit his favorite target, Justin Jefferson, for an apparent two-yard touchdown. However, referees flagged Minnesota’s offensive line for a holding penalty.
That moved the ball back to the 12-yard line.

The Blazers may not be finished swinging trades just yet. After the Damian Lillard trade which brought in Jrue Holiday and Deandre Ayton, among other things, Portland then flipped Holiday to the Celtics in exchange for Robert Williams, Malcolm Brogdon and multiple draft picks as well.
Now, it appears the Blazers could be right back at it, leaving the door wide open to once again move a guard acquired via trade, just as they did with Holiday.
