Perhaps no organization in Major League Baseball is better at developing young pitchers than the Tampa Bay Rays. One of the newest examples: Rookie right-hander Kevin Kelly, who showed off a filthy sweeping breaking ball during Tuesday’s win over the Angels.
Kelly came from obscurity as a Rule 5 draft choice last December, but has become a key cog in the Rays’ bullpen. Tuesday may have been the day he becomes a household name among baseball fans though, as he snapped off a pitch with a ridiculous 21 inches of horizontal break to strike out Brett Phillips in the seventh inning.

Lazio’s equalizer at the death was the best goal of the first day of Champions League play
Champions League group play got underway on Tuesday, and while there were some surprising results from the first slate of matches — Newcastle earning a draw at AC Milan among them — nothing can possibly top the ending to the match between Lazio and Atletico Madrid.
Midfielder Pablo Barrios slotted home a right-footed shot in the 29th minute to give visiting Atletico Madrid an early 1-0 lead.

Colorado is the talk of college football after the team’s 3–0 start to the season, and a key reason for the hot start for the Buffaloes is the play of Deion Sanders’s sons, quarterback Shedeur and defensive back Shilo.
Shedeur has emerged as one of the top signal callers in the sport, while Shilo has been making plays all over the field, highlighted by his interception return for a touchdown against Colorado State last Saturday.
The NFL has naturally come up in conversation for his two sons, and Deion made it clear that his kids aren’t going anywhere anytime soon.

Country clubs across the world can finally put an endless debate to rest as Novak Djokovic is officially the greatest tennis player of all time.
At least that’s according to someone who knows Djokovic better than anyone else as Rafael Nadal anointed him the GOAT claim in a recent interview. His reasoning? Just look at the numbers.
“I believe that numbers are numbers and statistics are statistics. In that sense, I think he [Djokovic] has better numbers than mine and that is indisputable,” Nadal told MovieStar+.
“This is the truth.

The 49ers host the Giants for Thursday Night Football, and SI Sportsbook has San Francisco favored by 10. The Giants, who were held scoreless in their opener, scored 31 points vs. the Cardinals on Sunday, but they will most likely be playing without star running back, Saquon Barkley for this contest. The 49ers have looked like the cream of the crop again in the NFC, and will be looking to make another statement at home on Thursday.
So, which player props should you target in this expected lopsided matchup? Here are three that caught my eye.

Alabama might have survived a weekend trip to South Florida, but Ole Miss is heading to Tuscaloosa on Saturday looking for blood. If Lane Kiffin has his way, Nick Saban will find himself in an offensive shootout, with Jalen Milroe hoping to answer the call.
We’ve now gone over two weeks with the Alabama quarterback situation getting most of the attention in the SEC, with Nick Saban having a hard time making a decision. Or is he? Maybe what we saw from Saban was him letting folks know what they actually had in the quarterback room.

Don’t sleep on the renaissance fullback. That might be the best genre of stereotype-obliterating archetypes in the NFL these days, and while there are numerous examples, there’s no better proof of concept than Alec Ingold. The Dolphins‘ one-man block party doesn’t block so much as he flattens. He’s so beloved by coach Mike McDaniel and Miami’s offensive assistants that he signed an extension this summer that made him one of the highest-paid players at his position (three years, up to $17.2 million).

Former NBA star Gilbert Arenas ripped Hall of Famer Hakeem Olajuwon for the cost of his basketball workouts with current NBA players.
Olajuwon reportedly charges NBA players $50,000 for private workout sessions, which is something that Arenas just could not get past.
“Nobody wants the Hakeem Olajuwon sky hook,” Arenas said on his Gil’s Arena podcast earlier this week. “Nobody wants none of that s–t. …You should be ashamed of yourself, charging these young whippersnappers $50,000. When you came in the league in 1984, you wasn’t even making $50,000 a game.
