Running was en vogue across the NFL in 2022, as the league-wide pass rate hit an 11-year low.
It was a banner year for rushing efficiency: Yards per carry hit an all-time high (4.5) and we saw the highest average rushing yards per game since 1987 (121.6). Along the way, 16 players recorded at least 1,000 rushing yards, which matched the 2019 and 2012 seasons for the most since 2010.
Many of those players are primed to hit that milestone again, while some will fall short. And then there are newcomers, like Falcons rookie Bijan Robinson, who could join the fray.

On Thursday, KSHB41 sports anchor Aaron Ladd shared a now-viral video. The clip shows a segment from today’s Kansas City training camp practice where bees swarmed a group of Chiefs players and coaches.
While backup quarterback Shane Buechele appeared to be ‘boxing’ the bees, Mahomes showed his deft elusiveness by evading the bees with the grace and athleticism he displays while in the pocket on the gridiron.

The Knicks reportedly inquired about Bulls guard Zach LaVine, but the asking price for the 28-year-old was “giant,” per The Athletic’s Fred Katz.
“Other All-Stars have trickled in and out of the rumor mill over the years, including this summer,” Katz wrote. “New York made contact with the Chicago Bulls about their shooting guard, Zach LaVine, but the asking price for the two-time All-Star was ‘giant,’ as one league source told The Athletic, which is exactly why LaVine remains in Chicago. The Knicks and Bulls, according to league sources, never got close.

Carlos Rodon became the unfortunate face of New York Yankees‘ fans frustrations on Wednesday.
Rodon, an offseason $160 million signing, has been hurt for most of 2023, making just three starts this season.
His third start came Wednesday, hoping to help the team avoid a disastrous series against the Los Angeles Angels.
It did not go well.
Rodon pitched just 4.1 innings, allowing six runs on four hits, with five walks and just three strikeouts.
As he was walking off the mound early in the start, some Yankees fans didn’t hide their frustration.

When he addressed the ball for his second shot on the par-5 15th, a bird flew over and pooped on his arm. It shocked him, and he gave a brilliant one-liner. “I just got shat on,” Hovland said.
