On Wednesday, I wrote an article titled “Is It Un-American To Root Against The US Women’s National Team During The World Cup?”
I laid out all the reasons fans might not want them to win, despite being Americans. Most of those reasons revolve around previous kneeling during the national anthem and pushing a radical, far-left political agenda.
The OutKick staff was curious how readers feel about the USWNT. So, we posted a poll on our Twitter feed.
We received over 4,500 votes in less than a day.

The U.S. forward is unstoppable at this level, scoring 121 goals and adding 49 assists in 207 appearances for the national team.
For 14 players on the U.S. roster, this World Cup is brand-new territory.
On Thursday, the Mariners placed outfielder Jarred Kelenic on the injured list with a broken left foot.
The injury occurred during the ninth inning of Wednesday night’s 6–3 loss to the Twins after Kelenic struck out against Jhoan Durán. Upon returning to the dugout, Kelenic kicked a water cooler in frustration, resulting in the injury.
An emotional Kelenic fought through tears as he spoke to the media about the situation before Thursday’s game.
“I let the emotions get the best of me there. I just feel terrible, especially for the guys,” Kellenic said.

A young and an old review “Blood & Guts.”
After weeks of hype and excitement, plus the arrival of Kota Ibushi, AEW’s Blood and Guts match came with over an hour of violence and unhinged wrestling.
Like, VERY unhinged.

Yes, that is a bed of nails, no I don’t know where they got it or how they built it and I don’t want to find out.

Nick Faldo attempted to save the coverage once he joined the Open Championship’s NBC broadcast, briefly coming out of retirement.
Golf broadcasts have been missing something, and it was Nick Faldo. The British legend briefly came out of retirement to join the NBC broadcast team for the Open Championship on Thursday.
The television broadcasts haven’t been the same since Faldo left. There is something about the Brit calling golf that just feels right.
The Open Championship broadcast was lacking early in the morning.
Minnesota Vikings rookie wide receiver Jordan Addison was reportedly given a citation for driving 140 miles per hour in his Lamborghini.
According to a police report from the Minnesota State Patrol, Addison was pulled over early Thursday morning.
“Just after 3.a.m., early Thursday morning, a Minnesota State Patrol trooper was traveling eastbound on Interstate 94 near Dale Street when they observed a driver in a Lamborghini Urus traveling 140 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone,” the report reads.
Isiah Pacheco, who missed all of offseason practice after having surgeries for shoulder and hand injuries, said he would “absolutely” be at full strength on Sept. 7 when the Chiefs begin defense of their Super Bowl championship against the Lions.
Wherever Spencer Rattler goes, scrutiny follows. It may be an unfortunate reality, but it is reality.
The 22-year-old quarterback will finish his final season of college football at South Carolina in 2023. And yet, despite his lengthy career, Rattler still can’t shake the outside narratives that have loomed over him since high school.
Shane Beamer is tired of the negative chatter.

Post-championship partying in Las Vegas didn’t quite turn out the way that Bruce Brown was expecting.
As the Nuggets were celebrating their first NBA championship, the team partied in Las Vegas to commemorate the victory over the Heat in the NBA finals.
Brown had one goal during the post-title celebrations: to get Nikola Jokić drunk.
Let’s just say things didn’t go quite according to plan.
“Bro he had me drinking some Serbian whiskey. We was taking shots,” Brown said of his former Nuggets teammate.
