Following the Trail Blazers’ decision to keep the No. 3 pick in the 2023 NBA draft, all signs began pointing to Damian Lillard’s days in Portland likely being numbered.
Then, following a meeting between Lillard and Blazers general manager Joe Cronin, things became even more confusing. Cronin issued a statement that the two had a “great dialogue,” per The Oregonian’s Bill Oram, and Brian Windhorst said the 32-year-old guard “absolutely did not” request a trade on ESPN’s Get Up.

Shohei Ohtani is the coolest baseball player ever and if you need more proof of that then just look at what he did Tuesday night against the White Sox—Ohtani struck out 10 batters while picking up the win on the mound and he also hit two home runs in the Angels’ 4-2 victory. 
His first homer came in the bottom of the first when he hit a 418-foot blast into the seats in right field. That was his league-leading 27th home run of the year and it was an absolute no-doubter. 
Ohtani’s celebration after it was pretty impressive, too.

The NHL announced that it has an “ignorance” problem and must be solved by forming an inclusivity coalition to reinforce support for minority and LGBT communities by the players.
In a report by The Athletic, the NHL and NHLPA announced the launch of the NHL Player Inclusion Coalition. The group is spearheaded by minority and gay members of the NHL community — first introduced in 2020 as a response to the death of George Floyd.

Fresh off of his 20th year in the NBA, Lakers star LeBron James will spend at least a small part of his offseason wading further into the entertainment industry.
James’s SpringHill Company will co-host a one-day film festival in Los Angeles that focuses on empowering athletes, per Herbert Lowe of the Los Angeles Times. The event—dubbed the Uninterrupted Film Festival—will be held at NeueHouse Hollywood on July 13.
The film festival will spotlight creators who “inspire the athlete mindset and ignite change through compelling stories,” per the event’s website.
