Nearly a month has passed since James Harden requested a trade from the Philadelphia 76ers, and the 33-year-old has still yet to be moved to another organization. But while conventional wisdom would suggest that’s a win for the Sixers organization, Stephen A. Smith argued Monday that Philadelphia would actually be better off without their well-traveled star.
Speaking on First Take Monday, Smith opined that the opportunity to put the ball in the hands of young guard Tyrese Maxey makes trading Harden the right move for the Sixers’ organization.

I’m flying to Detroit’s training camp today. And away we go with the 2023 NFL season …
There’s no easy solution to the running back problem. And that, to me, was illustrated in a discussion I had with one prominent agent Sunday on the topic, with his central point being that the very best at the position have to find a way to transcend the letters next to their names.
“If you’re deserving of more money, and the team feels like you can get it, they’re gonna give it to you,” the agent says.

Twins outfielder Joey Gallo is one of the most confounding players in baseball, and he made one of the most confounding plays of the season on Sunday.
Gallo is having a very weird season. He has a slash line of .179/.298/.459, with 17 home runs and 105 strikeouts in 255 plate appearances. His strikeout rate of 41.2% is the highest among players with at least 150 plate appearances. But by OPS+ and wRC+, he’s actually an above-average hitter.
What those numbers illustrate is clear: Gallo’s strength is his power. More than half of his hits this season are home runs.

Frank Reich’s had plenty of moments to reflect over the past six months on just where this tornado of a year has dropped him. One came a little over a week ago on his family text string, from one of his three daughters. It was a message sent to everyone in the group.
Can you believe that we’re here, together?
Reich played in Charlotte. He and his wife settled in Charlotte. His daughters spent their formative years in Charlotte, and, as adults, found their way back to the Carolinas.

Watson’s latest comments show that he’s learned nothing.
Deshaun Watson doesn’t get it, and he has absolutely no desire of getting it. That’s the takeaway from the quarterback’s first interview upon arriving at Browns training camp. A remorseless Watson stood in front of reporters on Sunday calling the allegations of at least 25 women for sexual misconduct, which he settled in civil court, a construct of the media who directed a “narrative” against him.
This wasn’t a case of misconstruing Watson’s words, or taking something out of context.

Human beings like shiny, new things. Whether it’s a kid getting a brand-new toy on Christmas morning or buying a new car with all the bells and whistles, we want the latest in everything. But sometimes, the new stuff isn’t as good as the stuff we’ve been used to in the past. New toys might be too complicated to understand, and not as fun, and new cars could have bugs that make life more of a headache.
This bodes true in the world of fantasy football, too.
