Just a couple months after former Warriors general manager Bob Myers announced he’d be leaving the role after 12 years, he is reportedly set to begin his career in broadcasting.
ESPN is closing in on a deal with Myers to join the network’s NBA Countdown show, per New York Post’s Ryan Glasspiegel. ESPN has yet to confirm the report.
This news comes just a day after the New York Post’s Andrew Marchand reported that Malika Andrews is set to replace Mike Greenberg as the host of the NBA finals this upcoming season. Greenberg is still expected to host NBA Countdown.

No trip to Oriole Park at Camden Yards is complete without a stop at Boog’s BBQ. Owned by Orioles Hall of Famer and former All-Star first baseman Boog Powell, the establishment is located on Eutaw Street behind right field and is a popular destination through Orioles home games.
And, as the baseball gods would have it, Thursday’s game against the Astros featured a divine meeting between a foul ball and BBQ sauce.

Authorities in Canada busted ex-NFL cornerback Buster Skrine.
The former New York Jets cornerback was arrested in Toronto on Wednesday, accused of opening multiple bank accounts to cash fraudulent checks — a scheme Skrine, 34, has reportedly been running since Sept. 2022.
Authorities arrested Skrine at Pearson International Airport before hopping on a flight back to the United States.

Blue Jays outfielder George Springer was not pleased with the pitch that resulted in a strikeout during the seventh inning of Thursday’s game vs. the Guardians, and he made sure to let home plate umpire Jeremie Rehak know. 
Springer walked away, voicing his frustration after the pitch was on the low end of the strike zone. Rehak quickly ejected Springer after the Toronto player continued to complain about the call.
Then, Blue Jays manager John Schneider ran onto the field to let Rehak hear his thoughts, too.

Reliever Keynan Middleton was recently traded from the Chicago White Sox to the New York Yankees. And on his way out of the South Side, he had some extremely harsh words for his former team’s culture and clubhouse discipline.
Middleton said that the White Sox essentially had no rules, with lax behavior tolerated by team management.
“We came in with no rules,” Middleton said. “I don’t know how you police the culture if there are no rules or guidelines to follow. Everyone is doing their own thing.

Every few years, ESPN handpicks a young broadcaster to jump the line over more proven, skilled veterans. Katie Nolan, Bomani Jones, Maria Taylor, and Michele Beadle were previous recipients of the treatment — all of whom failed. In fact, all four no longer work for ESPN.
But perhaps not even those four were pushed as aggressively and prematurely as Andrews.
