Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Myles Jack says that when NFL deals didn’t come rolling in as quickly as he thought they might, he considered making a career change.
Jack has 7 NFL seasons under his belt, the first six of which were with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He spent the 2022 season with the Pittsburgh Steelers released him in March.
However, until he was signed by the Eagles earlier this week, Jack was left twiddling his thumbs. That uncertainty led him to consider the possibility of needing to change careers.

Eighteen fans who attended the Leagues Cup matchup between Nashville SC and Mexico’s Club America on Tuesday were cited for trespassing after rushing the field in celebration that was later overturned due to an infraction.
Of the 18, Metro Nashville Police said Wednesday in a statement that 11 were adults and seven were children who were “mostly, if not all, fans of visiting Club America,” per The Tennessean.
Nashville SC and Club America ended regulation deadlocked 2-2, forcing penalty kicks.

Former NFL cornerback Bashaud Breeland was arrested in Charlotte earlier this week and is facing several charges including possession of a stolen vehicle, as well as possession of stolen firearms and illegal drugs. 
According to a Mecklenburg County Police Department report obtained by WBTV, Breeland was arrested Monday afternoon and booked into Mecklenburg County Jail early Tuesday morning. 
The report indicates police seized more than five pounds of marijuana, 62 grams of mushrooms and other drug paraphernalia in addition to two AK-47s and two AR-15s.

Devin Leary is a breakout candidate in college football this fall. That might be a strange way of phrasing it because he was a highly-watched NFL prospect in each of the last two seasons.
However, the 23-year-old redshirt junior quarterback has a real opportunity to play his way into an early-round pick come April, if not one of the first signal-callers off of the board. Leary can spin it.

Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith will retire at the conclusion of the 2023-24 academic year, he announced in a Wednesday morning press conference. Smith has led the Buckeyes’ athletic department since 2005.

Former NFL cornerback Bashaud Breeland entered a world of trouble, just two years since his last snap in the league.
Breeland was held in Mecklenburg County Jail early Tuesday after North Carolina authorities found the 31-year-old driving a stolen vehicle packed with a crazy haul of items set to begin a legal nightmare for the ex-CB.

Former ESPN host Rachel Nichols will be among the regular panelists to join Skip Bayless on Undisputed when the show returns on August 28.
Nichols will join a rotation of Richard Sherman and rapper Lil Wayne, as first reported by SBJ. Undisputed has been on hiatus since Shannon Sharpe’s final episode in June.
Specifically, Wayne will appear for a segment each week on Fridays. Sherman is nearing a deal to appear on the program for around 75 dates, most of which will occur during the football season.

The Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday completed a dominant series win over the San Diego Padres in dramatic fashion.
A shaky start by Tony Gonsolin staked the Padres to a 5-0 lead through the first three innings. But an offensive explosion led to an eight run fourth for Los Angeles, capped off by a grand slam from superstar outfielder Mookie Betts.
