Could the Baltimore Orioles be facing another embarrassing public blunder?
That’s what many Orioles fans are wondering as the team still hasn’t renewed their Camden Yards lease despite promising to do so by last month’s All-Star break. The team’s lease with the state-owned ballpark is up on December 31 and the two sides appear to be at a stalemate.
According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, Peter and John Angelos, the father-son duo that run the ball club, are at a disagreement with the city over what else – money.

Weeks after a hazing scandal rocked the Northwestern football program and led to the ouster of longtime coach Pat Fitzgerald, the Wildcats are under fire yet again.
The college football world was outraged after Bradley Locker of Inside NU shared a picture of Northwestern football staffers, including offensive coordinator Mike Bajakian, wearing shirts that seemed to honor Fitzgerald during practice Wednesday. The shirts had the slogan “Cats Against the World” on them and included the number 51 on it—the number Fitzgerald wore during his All-American playing career at Northwestern.

Former Las Vegas Raiders and NFL wide receiver Henry Ruggs was sentenced to 3-10 years in prison Wednesday for the 2021 car crash that resulted in the death of 23-year-old Tina Tintor and her dog.
Ruggs learned his fate in a packed Vegas courtroom late Wednesday morning, and made a statement immediately following the ruling.
“I let my family, my teammates and those who believed in me down with my actions and hurt so many,” the 24-year-old said.

It’s been a terrible season this year for the Royals, who have the second-worst record in the majors at 37–78, and things haven’t gone much better for their Triple-A affiliate, the Omaha Storm Chasers (50–55). But outfielder John Rave gave Omaha fans something to remember Tuesday night.
During the Storm Chasers’ game against the Iowa Cubs, Matt Mervis smacked a long fly ball to deep center field. Rave chased it down, crashed into the wall, juggled the ball and snatched it with his bare hand as he tumbled to ground. According to Statcast, the ball left the bat at 101.

Former Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs III was sentenced to between three and 10 years in Nevada state prison Wednesday following a November 2021 car crash that led to the death of 23-year-old Tina Tintor and her dog.
Ruggs’s sentence comes after the 24-year-old accepted a plea deal and pleaded guilty to one count of DUI and one count of misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter in May. Ruggs was driving at 156 mph when he crashed into Tintor, and his blood alcohol level (0.16) was two times higher than the legal limit, according to prosecutors.

Fowler didn’t hold back, pointing to the hypocrisy surrounding the Saudi involvement in the LIV Golf deal amid prior business relationships.
PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan met with players at the FedEx St. Jude Championship on Tuesday evening. Rickie Fowler was one of 25 players in attendance as more surfaced about the timeline of the LIV Golf deal.
