About a week and a half after begging New Zealanders to buy tickets to the Women’s World Cup, FIFA president Gianni Infantino reportedly decided to take a trip in the middle of the tournament.
This comes after he attended part of every match at the men’s tournament in Qatar just last year.

According to the Daily Mail, Infantino jetted off to Tahiti (using his private jet) and missed four days of matches while the World Cup went on without him.
Of course, he’s by no means obligated to watch every match.

The college football transfer portal has completely changed how schools build their teams, as coaches appear to be in recruitment mode all the time for active players. And with some schools able to use endorsement money to lure players away, the industry is in a whole new era.
Even if players have no intention to transfer, that doesn’t mean some schools are trying to convince them to anyway. Coming off a strong season, Maryland quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa said he was offered $1.5 million from an SEC team to transfer in the offseason.

The Bengals’ Super Bowl hopes took a hit after Joe Burrow sustained a strained calf in his right leg during practice Thursday. Cincinnati coach Zac Taylor told reporters Friday afternoon that he expects his starting quarterback to be sidelined “several weeks.”
The Bengals do have a handful of decent backup plans if Burrow is forced to miss regular-season games. The QB trade market might expand if they’re willing to part with a high draft pick.
The free-agent list might be thin, but there are three first-round quarterbacks available with lots of starting experience.

Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, who was carted off the field during Thursday’s practice after suffering a right calf strain, will miss the next “several weeks,” coach Zac Taylor announced on Friday. 
Burrow, who was simply scrambling out of the pocket on a play near the close of practice, pulled up lame with the non-contact injury.
After briefly being looked at on the field by the Bengals’ medical staff, the concern for Burrow was immense after he needed to be carted off the field.

As the summer reaches its hottest point, the NBA offseason has cooled off considerably. Players are traveling the world. Coaches are retreating to whatever dark rooms they go to in between games. Alex Rodriguez has never been one to shy way from showing people that he’s not the smartest guy in the world and that continued this week when he brought up a possible trade proposal for the Angels involving their all-world star player, Shohei Ohtani. 
While appearing on Bret Boone’s podcast this week, Rodriguez suggested the Angels trade away Ohtani and load up on draft picks in the deal so they can build up their farm system.
There’s only one problem: Major League Baseball doesn’t allow draft picks to get traded.
