The 2022 Broncos season was an unmitigated disaster, with first-year head coach Nathaniel Hackett lasting just 15 games before he was fired with a 4–11 record. The football world had a lot of jokes at Hackett’s expense, though it could be argued that nobody went as hard on Hackett as new Denver coach Sean Payton just did.
In a recent interview with USA TODAY’s Jarrett Bell, Payton ripped all aspects of the Broncos’ season, saying of his approach to this year, “we’re doing the opposite” of “everything” Denver did in 2022.

Golf is hard. It’s even harder when your tee shot ends up right behind a tree. But, as the PGA Tour slogan reads: “These guys are good.” Nick Hardy found himself in that terrible spot at the 3M Open, right behind a giant tree.
He had the option to pitch the ball out of trouble and try to save par. But Nick Hardy isn’t out at TPC Twin Lakes to play it safe.
Instead, Hardy decided to risk one of his irons to try and make a “hero” shot. And what a hero he is.
Hardy started his day on the back nine. Therefore, his final hole of the day was the par-4 ninth hole.
The Buffalo Bills and Nyheim Hines are at odds about how much money the running back should be paid in 2023.
After suffering a torn ACL on a jet ski, Hines will miss the entire season. So the question now becomes: How much money are the Bills required to pay him?
The 26-year-old reworked his contract in March — agreeing to a two-year, $9 million deal. Hines would have made $2.56 million this season, but his non-football injury makes the contract voidable.
Nyheim Hines appeared in nine games for the Buffalo Bills in 2022.

Bottas unveiled his ‘Belgian Delights’ helmet for the Belgian Grand Prix
Themed helmets are a big thing each Formula 1 week. They allow drivers to show even more personality, creativity, while often paying tribute to either the host nation, the history of the sport, or something else.
This year has been no exception. We have seen Lando Norris pay tribute to the beaches of Miami as well as McLaren’s history in F1. But Alfa Romeo driver Valtteri Bottas might just be the king of the themed-helmet game.

Biff Poggi does not appreciate how little respect his program is getting ahead of the 2023 season. The 64-year-old is coming in with guns blazing and does not plan to holster them any time soon.
Poggi, one of the most successful high school coaches in recent history, was named head football coach at Charlotte in November. Although he has only been with the program for just eight months or so, his impact has reverberated across the sport, especially this week.
Earlier this year, Poggi took aim at his own, brand-new booster base while eviscerating a rival coach.
Saquon Barkley finally returned to New York Giants practice this week. After threatening to sit out the season, Barkley ultimately signed a one-year contract for this season. Barkley, like many NFL running backs, is not happy about the state of the position, relative to compensation.
But now that the ink is dried on the new deal, Barkley is in full-grind mode. That means doing everything he can to serve the New York Giants organization and the fans that support them.
What is the right question to ask about the Angels’ deadline strategy?
They have the most attractive trade candidate imaginable in Shohei Ohtani. Here is a man who lays bare the inadequacy of the term generational talent, who makes every hypothetical trade proposal an exercise in pure wishcasting, who is the best player in baseball and, crucially, one set to experience free agency later this year. And they also hold one of the longest playoff droughts in baseball. The Angels have spent five years trying to win with Ohtani. This sixth year feels like their final chance.

It’s gonna go down Week 5 between Robert Saleh and Sean Payton
New Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton sat down with Jarrett Bell of USA Today as the team opened training camp, and addressed how the team fared in 2022 as well as his hopes and expectations for 2023.
And the new head coach did not hold back.
Payton threw everyone he could under the bus — except for quarterback Russell Wilson — and aimed the bulk of his criticism for former head coach Nathaniel Hackett.
