Billy Horschel took moving day to heart as he took the lead and put himself inside the FedEx Cup Playoffs projection.
Billy Horschel has come a long way from shooting an 84 at The Memorial Tournament two months ago. That moment was a turning point for Horschel.
He has shot three days in the 60s, including a bogey-free 63 on Saturday at the Wyndham Championship. The former Florida Gator sits in the driver’s seat. His third-round score pushed him to 18-under and tied for first with Lucas Glover.

The salad days for the Golden State Warriors appear to be in the rearview mirror, but Andre Iguodala revealed that during the team’s peak, anyone could’ve handled one of their practices without breaking a sweat.
Iguodala was on the Par 3 Podcast hosted by ex-NBA player JR Smith. Now, as you could probably surmise from the name, that’s a golf podcast. Iguodala is a golfer and on the show, he talked about how easy it was to get a round of golf in when the Warriors’ practice sessions were so short.
Missouri football coach Eli Drinkwitz addressed the media on Saturday in order to express his concerns about the realignment of college football conferences.
With a slew of changes coming to college sports in regard to the size and structure of some of the biggest conferences, Drinkwitz was outspoken about the impact the new conference alignment will have on travel, and how that can affect young student athletes.
In a passionate monologue, Drinkwitz questioned whether the decision-makers considered “the cost” these moves would have on athletes.
“I thought the transfer window, I thought the portal was closed. Oh, that’s just for the student-athletes.
The New York Yankees won Saturday’s game against Justin Verlander and the Houston Astros, no thanks to the effort from Giancarlo Stanton.
Stanton has had to deal with numerous hamstring injuries throughout his career; especially this season. And while it makes sense to be protective of your health, the effort and speed he put into trying to score during Saturday’s game was…disappointing.
With the Astros and Yankees tied at one in the bottom of the third inning, two outs and Stanton on second base, D.J. LeMahieu laced a single to right field.
Cleveland Cavaliers and Spanish national team star Ricky Rubio has announced his plans to take a break from basketball to focus on his mental health.
Rubio released a statement on Saturday announcing his decision.
“I have decided to stop my professional activity to take care of my mental health. I want to thank all the support I have received from the [Spanish national team] to understand my decision,” Rubio wrote in a statement, per The New York Post.
“Today #family makes more sense than ever. Thank you.
The NASCAR Cup Series will continue its season without one of its rookies after driver Noah Gragson received an indefinite suspension on Saturday due to offensive activity on social media, according to multiple reports.
NASCAR and Gragson’s team Legacy Motor Club reportedly disciplined the 25-year-old for “liking an insensitive meme with a photo of George Floyd’s face,” per ESPN and the Associated Press.
CANTON — The number is 10,363.
It is the number of a great servant. Of an NFL career.
It’s the number of a Pro Football Hall of Famer.
Joe Thomas is all about that number. It represents the number of consecutive snaps he took during his 11 year-career.
“I want to start by talking about a random number— the number 10,363. Not too random,” Thomas said at the Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium during his enshrinement on Saturday. “That’s how many consecutive snaps I had in my career.
NFL fans who descended upon Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio for the 2023 Hall of Fame ceremony were treated to several memorable moments from a handful of the sport’s greatest players.
Among the nine players who received busts was Browns standout tackle Joe Thomas who delivered one of the funniest moments of the day when he joked about Cleveland’s instability at the quarterback position during his 11 seasons.
“To my quarterbacks, all of them, 20. Yes. I’ve blocked for more starting quarterbacks than any other player in NFL history,” Thomas joked.
The Mets have come a long way in a calendar year, in the worst sense of the phrase possible.
In 2022, New York looked poised to win the NL East before a white-hot Braves team ran them down after the trade deadline. The team spent big in free agency after losing in the first round of the postseason, and have sputtered this season, currently sitting fourth in the division with a 50–59 record.
