New England Patriots starting running back Rhamondre Stevenson eclipsed the 1,000-yard rushing plateau last year in his sophomore NFL season. He’s looking to do that again. But as of now, Stevenson isn’t yet fully practicing with the team. And apparently, only head coach Bill Belichick knows why.

Trent Brown, Matthew Judon and Rhamondre Stevenson are limited today. Patriots have taken it easy with all three of them this summer.

Iowa’s Division of Criminal Investigation is currently investigating a gambling scandal that involves both University of Iowa and Iowa State University athletes. Both in-state schools had underage athletes that allegedly placed illegal wagers under the guise of their parents’ identities.
Hawkeyes backup kicker Aaron Blom is said to have placed about 170 wagers that totaled $4,400. Eight of the bets were on his own school, including at least one hilarious bet on his own team.

Mike Breen, Jeff Van Gundy and Mark Jackson became familiar faces and voices to some of the most iconic moments during the NBA Finals on ESPN.
However, things will be different for the network’s broadcast next year. ESPN laid off Van Gundy in late June after the trio called its 15th NBA Finals as part of the network’s financial cuts.
Then, on Monday, Jackson and the network parted ways after 17 years. Breen recently told the New York Post that he was completely shocked by the network’s decision to lay off his broadcast partners.

Ron Cross, the first LIV Golf hire of CEO Greg Norman in 2021 has been removed from his position with the Saudi-backed league.
LIV Golf Chief Events Officer Ron Cross has been removed from his position. Cross was in charge of securing venues and helping run LIV Golf tournaments.
Cross and LIV Golf confirmed the departure on Wednesday, per Sports Illustrated. He told the publication that he is thankful to have been a part of launching the PGA Tour’s rival golf league.

The Pac-12’s long saga to find a media partner for next year is reportedly nearing a possible conclusion after commissioner George Kliavkoff proposed a subscription-based deal with streaming giant Apple to the league’s presidents and chancellors on Tuesday.
While Apple could represent the end of the lengthy road for the conference, there were apparently many other networks considered before reaching this point—including one that the Pac-12 approached three times over the last year to try and work out a deal, to no avail.

Aspen Vaughn, the woman Jackson Mahomes allegedly forced himself onto, has had to shut down her restaurant where the alleged sexual assault took place due to the negative publicity leading to significant losses.
According to the Kansas City Star, Vaugh’s restaurant called ‘Aspens’ has seen profit drop by 75% and also be subject to vandalism since the alleged incident was first made public earlier this year. Vaughn said she believes someone cut the lines to the restaurant’s central air conditioning unit and pulled a fire alarm inside that led to water damage as well.

The Toronto Blue Jays may not have made the biggest splash of the MLB trade deadline, but they might be having the most fun.
Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette left Monday’s game with an injury, acquiring making infield depth a priority on Tuesday. Sure enough, they agreed to a trade with the St. Louis Cardinals for infielder Paul DeJong.
DeJong has struggled mightily over the past few years, but his 2023 offensive production has recovered to near average levels. Even more importantly though, he’s turned in his typically excellent defense.
