Expectations are as high as they have been in quite some time in Columbia, South Carolina for Gamecocks football this season thanks in large part to returning quarterback Spencer Rattler.
Head coach Shane Beamer leading the Gamecocks to an 8-5 record a season ago isn’t quieting the noise either, but it’s no secret that South Carolina goes as Spencer Rattler goes.

This beef was more contentious than delicious
What makes the USWNT’s fight for equal pay “beef” instead of just a labor dispute? Was it when Mia Hamm threatened to retire in 1999 because the head honchos wouldn’t let the team go on a victory tour? Little bit.
Was it when one of the guys cutting their checks essentially said he was proud of being a chauvinist? Yep, uh huh.
It was also beef when U.S. Soccer got pretty sexist in an official court filing.

Before the formal announcement of Errol Spence Jr.–Terence Crawford, before thousands of super fight-starved boxing fans descended on Sin City, before the bells and whistles that come with a major fight week, before the two best 147-pound fighters in the world squared off for welterweight—and perhaps pound-for-pound—supremacy, few believed it would happen. Negotiations were getting too sticky. Spence was getting too big. Crawford was more likely ticketed for another ho-hum title defense. Spence was preparing to drop his belts and move up to 154 pounds.
Who didn’t believe it: Spence.
