Nigeria notched the biggest win in the country’s Women’s World Cup history in a 3–2 thriller against co-host Australia, setting the stage for an exhilarating final day in the Group of Death.
Led by Pitt women’s soccer coach Randy Waldrum, Nigeria came back from a 1–0 deficit to defeat the tenth-ranked Matildas. Just five minutes after Australia’s opening goal, Racing Louisville’s Uchenna Kanu equalized just before the stroke of halftime.
Osinachi Ohale then gave the Super Falcons the lead in the 65th before Barcelona star Asisat Oshoala extended the lead to 3–1.

It wasn’t long ago that Name, Image, Likeness was introduced to college athletics. What came with it was a new way to entice players to certain schools. As we’ve seen over the past year, the number of commissioners and coaches finally calling it what it is has changed.
Let’s be clear, paying players to attend college is not new. What is new is the way some are hiding it behind NIL rules and collectives. Long gone are the days of dropping off a bag of cash or setting up parents of potential student athletes with jobs across the country.

Not a lot of time for the teams, particularly those with some work to do, to get things right.

And that means Shohei Ohtani isn’t going anywhere.
Ohtani will continue his bid for the AL MVP as he takes the mound vs. the Tigers Thursday.
Usually, I give a lot of stats as to why I like a certain bet.

It seems like every night we see nasty pitches thrown by pitchers that could easily be considered the best or coolest pitch of the Major League Baseball season. There is just a ton of filthy stuff being thrown around the league.
Well, on Wednesday night, we had the opposite of that, as San Francisco’s Ryan Walker threw what should easily stand up as the worst pitch of the season.
The right-hander seemed to have a glitch in the system on this pitch in the third inning because it didn’t come close to home plate.

The NFC West may not be the simple prediction it appears to be.
While the 49ers are in terrific position to once again threaten for a Super Bowl, they’ll have serious competition within the division first.
Last year, it was the Seahawks who stunned the prognosticators by earning a wild-card berth after trading away Super Bowl–winning quarterback Russell Wilson and replacing him with Geno Smith. As it turned out, Wilson bombed with the Broncos, while Smith earned a Pro Bowl berth in Seattle, throwing 30 touchdowns.
