Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has passed his physical ahead of training camp after recovering from offseason foot surgery, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports. Las Vegas will not place Garoppolo on the PUP list, allowing the quarterback to participate fully in practice.
After Garoppolo signed a three-year contract with the Raiders in March, the quarterback needed to undergo surgery to further repair his broken foot from last season. The surgery was serious enough that Las Vegas put a clause in the contract allowing them to waive Garoppolo without penalty if he couldn’t play this year.

Dethroned but gracious, Michael Phelps stood and applauded the man who erased him from the record book. Later, he placed a gold medal around Léon Marchand’s neck, posed for pictures with him and lifted his arm in the air, like a defeated boxer acknowledging his vanquisher.
Marchand’s reaction on a live Peacock broadcast, after seeing that he had annihilated the last individual world record of the greatest swimmer ever: “What the f— is happening?”
Marchand spoke for many of us in that moment.

There are a lot of different ways to approach the weeks after Nationals ahead of Worlds.
Some things are way more important than baseball.
Veteran MLB pitcher Chad Kuhl announced Friday he would be taking time away from the sport while his wife, Amanda, battles breast cancer. He also thanked fans on Instagram for donating in his drive to help others who are battling the disease.
“I’ve taken some time to reflect on these past few weeks and where I’m currently at I want to thank the @nationals and their fans for welcoming us and to those who have donated their time and money for the #cancerisntkuhl campaign & @nats4good we are especially grateful,” Kuhl wrote.
Red Bull Racing is on a streak of domination the likes of which Formula 1 has never seen.
With Max Verstappen being the first to cross the stripe (for the seventh consecutive time this year, and ninth overall) at this Hungaroring on Sunday, the team has won 12 consecutive races. That breaks the record of 11-straight they shared with Mclaren (for two weeks), who had held the record since 1988.
That of course was the Prost/Senna era of McLaren arguably the most dominant pairing in sports history (I think it still is based on how both drivers were in championship contention every year).

With yet another win, the F1 team puts their name atop the record books
Despite facing some questions coming into the Hungarian Grand Prix after a somewhat disappointing qualifying session, Red Bull secured yet another win as Max Verstappen pulled away from the field.
And raced the team into the record books.
The win is the team’s 12th-straight victory, dating back the the season finale at Abu Dhabi a season ago. With that win, that moves Red Bull one ahead of McLaren, who won 11-straight races to start the 1988 campaign.
Elijah Holyfield is awaiting his next opportunity in the NFL. In the meantime, he is looking insanely jacked while working his way back to the gridiron.
Holyfield, son of former heavyweight champion boxer Evander Holyfield, was a four-star prospect in the college football recruiting Class of 2016. The University of Georgia ultimately received his commitment and the Atlanta-native spent two years in a reserve role before breaking out as a junior.
He rushed for 1,018 yards on 159 carries with seven touchdowns while splitting time with D’Andre Swift in 2018.
