Having converted on a 63-yard field goal for his high school team as a senior, Rutschman was used as a kickoff specialist by Oregon State as a freshman.

DeAndre Jordan was in attendance for the 2023 NBA Summer League, joining many of his Nuggets teammates to watch their younger players. The veteran big man spoke to Altitude Now reporter Katy Winge about both the young team and discussed one of Jordan’s close friends from last year’s team in Jeff Green.
While Green left in free agency, joining the Rockets, Jordan was asked by Winge what he’s going to do without his former teammate, and the center was quick to troll the former Nugget.

ESPN NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins says that there’s no dispute that the Lakers won the offseason. 
In fact, Perkins believes no other team has come close to having the offseason that Los Angeles has had. However, Perkins thinks there’s a bit more work to do to finish the job, including filling out the depth in the frontcourt, and he has just the candidate to do it: Dwight Howard.
“Absolutely, they killed it. A+ it,” Perkins said on NBA Today when describing the offseason for the Lakers.

At least one Pelicans player appears to have had about enough of the Zion Williamson slander. While there have been many positive things said about the 23-year-old forward in the media recently, one comment seemed to be a breaking point for fellow New Orleans forward Larry Nance.
Following a reported comment by FS1’s Ric Bucher in which the analyst reported he has been told Zion has “shown no interest” in developing a floater, up-and-under layup, or pull-up jumper from the elbow, Nance stepped in and was quick to unload on this report.

Ezekiel Elliott was sued in July 2021 by a woman claiming to have been attacked by one of the running back’s dogs. The civil suit was set to go to a jury trial on Monday, but according to a court official, the suit has been settled.
Jennifer Gampper, the Frisco woman who filed the civil suit, was seeking over $1 million in damages that she claimed left her with “severe and permanent injuries.”
According to Dallas Morning News, Gampper’s attorney confirmed in a written statement that the lawsuit has been “resolved.” He said the he cannot discuss the terms of the settlement.

The one nice thing about the prevalence of gambling sites and gambling-related information is that we can clearly define “expectations” for each NFL team. While a fan base can have completely inflated and unrealistic expectations (cough, Cardinals fans last year even though we tried to warn you, cough), people who make a living working for sportsbooks have to refine the process in order to protect their bottom line. Northwestern fired head coach Pat Fitzgerald on Monday evening after President Michael Schill made his own decision, after first suspending Fitzgerald for two weeks. Now, current players are sharing their frustrations on social media and to OutKick.
The news was a shock to the team, as they received a group text from a staff member that called for an immediate team meeting. Most Northwestern players were there in-person during this hastily called meeting, which was to inform them that coach Fitzgerald had been fired.
