Thomas, the former number one ranked player in the world, once again missed the cut at a major, missing The Open Championship cut line.
Justin Thomas is having a really difficult time right now. Despite his even par 71 on Friday, the former world No. 1 will miss the cut at the 2023 Open Championship. It is the third time this year he has missed a cut at a major.
His opening round 82, which was the worst round in a major during his pro career, cost him a shot at the weekend.
It came on the heels of his final round 81 at the U.S. Open last month.

The Giants are adding a reliable veteran receiver for quarterback Daniel Jones, having agreed to terms with 11-year pro Cole Beasley on Friday, the team announced.
Beasley, 34, will head to New York to reunite with coach Brian Daboll, his former offensive coordinator with the Bills, in a move that will also mark his return to the NFC East.
An undrafted wideout who spent his first six seasons in the division with the Cowboys, Beasley is coming off a 2022 season in which he proved he still has something left in the tank during a brief stint with the Bills.

Disney CEO Bob Iger is trying to right the ship, and it sounds like to help out with ESPN, he has turned to some of its biggest partners: the NFL, NBA, and MLB.
It’s no secret that Disney has been having some trouble. What with theme park attendance taking a dip, and the disaster that has been their focus on streaming.
So, recently, Iger discussed possible plans for the company’s TV company assets. These include ABC, FX, and of course ESPN. While selling was brought up, Iger also expressed wanting to find a ‘strategic partner’ for ESPN.

Diamondbacks pitcher Kevin Ginkel went viral this week for doing something really strange in the ninth inning of Wednesday night’s win over the Braves. 
In case you missed it, the right hander didn’t like that Ronald Acuña Jr. was taking a very big lead at third so he walked over to him and tried to stare him down while waving his arms at him. The Braves star seemed confused by the whole thing, and rightfully so—his lead shouldn’t have upset Ginkel as much as it look like it did.

Dan Snyder is officially out as Commanders owner, as the NFL completed the sale of the Washington franchise to Josh Harris on Thursday. Many observers subsequently celebrated the departure of Snyder, one of the most controversial owners in league history, and a former head coach of the team made a surprising revelation.
On “The Kevin Sheehan Show” podcast, Jay Gruden, who coached the Commanders from 2014-19, said he believes the franchise will benefit from new ownership, specifically because Snyder “made it too much about himself” by imposing his will in personnel matters.

Who understands the market for NFL running backs? You can only claim to get it if you thought the next name to be signed to a contract would be … Melvin Gordon.
That’s right, the guy who rushed for 318 yards, averaged 3.5 yards per carry and was cut by his team in 2022.
Gordon on Friday agreed to a one-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens that a club source said is not much above the veteran minimum of $1.165 million. The source said the deal could climb to about $3 million if Gordon reaches all the incentive plateaus in the contract.
