Amid a contentious contract dispute with star running back Jonathan Taylor, the Colts have added depth to the backfield by signing veteran Kenyan Drake. The news was shared by agents at SportsTrust Advisors.
The 29-year-old back appeared in 12 games for the Ravens last year, posting 482 total rushing yards while adding four rushing touchdowns.
The Colts are need of help at the running back position as Taylor remains on the Active/PUP list in the midst of a contract dispute with the club.

Remember when people used to say:
I like the purity and pageantry of college football over the NFL game.
Yeah, well, welcome to the new world, where the sport formerly known as the National Felony League, is the purer league.
College Football is dismantling itself in front of our very eyes via conference realignment. And it is eating, not its young, but its less fortunate.
This could be the Pacific-12 by Monday — Stanford, California, Oregon State and Washington State — for the 2024 season. Calling the Mountain West.
So, what now? That’s the question many across college sports are asking after Oregon’s and Washington’s expected exit for the Big Ten, which, barring a late hangup, seems primed to occur. Here are four burning questions about the future of the Pac-12, or at least what’s left of it.
RIP, the Apple Cup and Civil War?
Realignment has been known to kill storied rivalries. Texas–Texas A&M (which realignment brought back), Bedlam, Missouri–Kansas among them. But perhaps it won’t kill Washington–Washington State and Oregon–Oregon State.
Justin Verlander was expected to help the New York Mets push towards World Series contention in the 2023 season.
During the offseason, Verlander was one of the signature acquisitions for Steve Cohen, signing a high dollar contract to anchor the Mets rotation. Except in early August, he’s back where he started, pitching for the Astros in Houston.
So what exactly happened?
Even Verlander’s not sure.
The Bears have plenty to prove. The good news for their fans? They’re eager to prove it.
This time last year, Chicago general manager Ryan Poles was trading away parts, most notably edge rusher Robert Quinn. This summer, on Thursday night, Poles added a pass rusher in Yannick Ngakoue, who despite being on his sixth team now has notched 65 career sacks.
By adding Ngakoue, the message is clear: The Bears intend to compete in the wide-open NFC North this season.
Ngakoue has 65 career sacks, including 9.5 for the Colts in 2022.
The Lakers are signing center Anthony Davis to a three-year $186 million max extension that runs through 2028, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
Entering the 2023–24 season, Davis had one year left on his deal worth $40 million and a player option for next year worth just over $43 million. In total, Davis will make $270 million over the rest of his contract and he will be 35 years old by the time his contract expires.
After Los Angeles acquired Davis from the Pelicans, Davis has averaged 24.6 points and 10.1 rebounds per game in 194 regular season games.
Saints star Alvin Kamara expressed his remorse and desire to improve on Friday after opening up for the first time publicly about the Feb. 2022 incident that resulted in him receiving discipline from the NFL.
Kamara, 28, and Colts cornerback Chris Lammons were handed three-game suspensions from the NFL on Friday for their roles in a Las Vegas altercation the night before the 2022 Pro Bowl that left one man, Darnell Greene, seriously injured. The case has since been settled.
Saints running back Alvin Kamara has been suspended three games by the NFL, according to multiple reports.
The suspension is for a violation of the league’s personal conduct policy related to his role in a fight the weekend of the 2022 Pro Bowl. Kamara will miss the season opener against the Titans at home and road games against the Packers and Panthers. He will be eligible to return Week 4 for a home bout with the Buccaneers.
Kamara is coming off the worst statistical season of his career, but even that was still good enough for an RB16 finish in PPR.
Oregon and Washington are finalizing a deal to join the Big Ten Conference, which would expand to 18 members in 2024, sources told ESPN.
